Dj Campbell cost 3.5m & only scored 5 goals for us in 4 seasons....does Akinbiyi just stick in peoples heads due to the 5m (a whole 1.5m more than Dj), the size of him & relegation season because there have been a lot worse.

Just seeing that he’s moved club again thought I’d look into Slimani’s career with us and since. Whilst with us from 16/17 Slimani scored just 8 Lge goals & 10 whilst on loan from us. Since leaving us in 20/21 the then £30m record signing has played for 9 different clubs over 6 different countries scoring just 24 Lge goals, in some shoddy leagues. That’s a grand total of 42 league goals in 10 seasons and yet still people will say wasn’t given a chance and probably way down on our worst purchases because of that reason. Most posters worst ever signing representation would be Akinbiyi who was only with us 2 seasons and everything focused on that 2nd season despite him only being there for the first half prior to relegation. He cost £5m in today’s money £9.5m he was our top Lge scorer in his 1st season with 9 the following season 01/02 it was Brian Deane with just 6, I’m not sure Akinbiyi can really be blamed for the relegation he only played half a season and still got a 3rd of the goals Deane got. Once he left us he went on to play in both championship and Premier league scoring 50 Lge goals in less seasons and harder lges than Slimani. I think if we have as I couldn’t find 1 although there must be, a worst ever player thread, then for money and return Slimani must top it. Disclosure, I am neither Akinbiyi, nor related to him or associated with him before someone says hello [ ], I’m just a guy who saw through the give Slimani ago hype 😂

I hope the probable change of manager at Newport doesn’t stunt Opoku & Braybrooke’s progression in the team. They haven’t won in something like 8 games and sit outside relegation places on GD, so he must be under threat. Ideally they both make it to January and then recalled to go to a Lge 1 or better still a championship side otherwise I think we can probably say goodbye to both in that they won’t get a chance with us if not.

Look no further than Luton, other teams will fit the slot also but Luton PO winners 22/23, relegated from Prem 23/24 then relegated from championship 24/25 currently sitting mid-table Lge 1 25/26 just 2 seasons later

Is that a leaning reference ? I don’t care where I get my news tbh
-
i am indeed & wouldn't say widely covered by mainstream media

I know it’s all subjective, I didn’t see a straight red at the time or in the replays, yellow at most and even then given the area on the pitch it happened and how many covering Leicester players and zero Oxford players in front for that quick break another weekend it’s just a foul, these types do go on week in week out. Studs were not high, 1 foot stays on the deck the whole time, he doesn’t catch any of the players lower leg all force is through thigh on thigh in my eyes (without blue tinted on) cut to Hume Rogers is flung into the air a good metre+ and not because he jumps but because of the force he’s hit and mid leg. Not even a yellow and given the position of the Villa attack just surprising & then VAR surely they send the ref to the screen 🤷♂️ QPR/Stoke 1 again only a drop ball christ, it’s these calls that just drop the officials in the poop with teams and fans & that word consistency.

Typical, maybe we should do a Forest and demand we never get that weak, easily manipulated Referee again 😂

Whilst our mainstream media blew smoke up the UK & France’s hoops for potentially signing up for £trns in reparation costs there wasn’t a whisper of how the peaceful 1 of the groups were running riot in Italian cities, damaging property & battling with police, why is that you would have thought that would be major international news?
-
Having just watched the tackle by Hume on Rogers in the Sunderland/Villa game Sunday how the f Ramsey got a straight red for his strong challenge when Hume didn’t even get a yellow &/or VAR intervention is beyond comprehension. Leicester should now use that in a hearing to get Ramsey’s rescinded. edit: just seen ref watch obviously no mention of the Hume challenge, got to protect their premiership refs, but they do mention this 1 & again not even a yellow for a full on leg breaker which even had Dermot scratching his head as to why no Red ”QPR defender Amadou Mbengue is not booked after a horrendous tackle on Stoke's Ben Pearson - not even a free kick was awarded, with the game re-starting with a drop ball.”
-
I didn’t see the interviews after the man c game but did Rodri with their 33% say only 1 team came to play & it wasn’t us? 😂

One thing you've learnt from life and wish to pass on.

Chase happiness not money -
It’s obvious that Chelsea, Arsenal & 2 x Manchester ladies clubs are so much better than the rest and actually look like football players but the constant bias over them during games and the way they are talked about will ruin what they are trying to a archive in growing the woman’s game. They have the platform to big up other teams, talk about career paths etc etc to encourage new players, fans & investment etc etc but they are so derogatory towards any club outside those 4 (maybe now add in LCL as the new darlings) they risk damaging its growth and just make a carbon copy of the men’s game.

That’s 2 posts I’ve been writing with others saying the same thing, not just me then 😂

Commentators just said Bright done similar challenge to the 1 that got their player a yellow but nothing shown and this is what frustrates players….. well all the commentators bull protecting the ‘special’ teams is what frustrates the fans

😂

Wot is it with commentators in our games, talking that 50/50 change up from a harsh yellow to a red the plums 🤨

Controversial i’d keep Soumare in with Winks & have JJ over Ayew with Carranza leading the line. If I’m correct Coventry are not only leading scorers in the division they have also had the most shots on goal in the division and our midfield 3 covered our very slow CBs yesterday to restrict Coventry to just a few chances. We might not rate him but Soumare must have done something to contribute in that & having Ayew as the 3rd midfielder leaves a hell of a lot of work for a 2 of Winks|JJ to do both in defending then getting the team up the pitch.

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
BKLFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
He should no longer be a starter now we have Carranza, JJ and Ramsey & he certainly shouldn’t have been played for just about the full 90mins in every game. We recorded 17 shots yesterday and Ayew playing as both the 9 then 10 had just 1 of those & that was sub 40seconds after KO which was scrabbled out for a corner, Daka also had 1 shot in his 3-5mins on the pitch. Replacing JJ and dropping Ayew to 10 gave Coventry the advantage in midfield, Ayew’s contribution to the midfield was to step between Cov player and ball and then go down hoping for a free kick, it might have happened once but more often than not the ref played on and there was 1 particularly scary moment near the end of the game when he lost it doing just that and we were open at the back, I honestly thought that’s it smash and grab but I think Thomas got back and forced it out for corner. He often got in the way of Mavididi and then Monga on the left I’d be interested to see his heat map as a 9/10 and then especially as a 10 v JJ’s for instance. Yes he has slightly changed my view on him with some of his performances but yesterday he should have been subbed at halftime let alone playing till the 88minute but that’s on Marti, he better learn from the pressure he put us under taking JJ off and keeping Ayew on. -
Gotcha so for replay everything is reset, 0:0 & full compliment of players. Bloody nuts as it was in the last 10mins of the game why should they reply the entire 90 the buggers
-
No wonder we turned the EFL/premier lge in knots their rules are utter nonsense, look at reg 34.2 ‘EFL regulation 34.2 states that if a match "falls short of 90 minutes’, it may be ordered to count as a completed fixture or be replayed in full or in part on whatever terms and conditions the board" decides.’ So basically it’s down to a board regardless big how many minutes short of 90, why not just state that as the ‘Reg 34.2’ what’s the point of mentioning the 3 options. We just know it’s being played in full, the red stands but it doesn’t actually state if it means Greaves just can’t play in a replay or if Ipswich must start with 10 players.
-
Certainly need to be on their A game because for large parts of today it wasn’t #1 in the world taking the game to #4. The bench for sure made the difference but it’s not a forgone conclusion in the final, hopefully they have reserved the best for a 1 off game 👌
-
Hmm offside for me that
-
Lucky to be ahead a big step up is needed as that was all France

I’m with you, yes he’s showing potential but not sure the over the top cooing of him is fully warranted yet & again in case it’s lost I think he’s going to be a good player. If we look at someone like Philogene, there has been quite a lot of he’s overrated on here before but taking his hatrick the other night it’s not just the 3 goals it’s how well he took them, how he made the room to get in a position to take them and how fast and direct he was, making all 3 himself & if Monga can show that the cooing will be warranted. ps I repeat for a 3rd and final time Monga is a good player
