Not sure people are being overly positive they’re just saying we haven’t been great but still only a point off 2nd. As poster have said we haven’t had a complete performance yet in fact we & Norwich are the most Ying Yang team in the whole league going on 1st half 2nd half performance. Taking all games as standalone halves we are in the relegation places 22nd for 1st halves and top [1st] for 2nd halves but sit 5th & Norwich Lead the 1st halves & then 23rd in 2nd but sit 14th. Coventry do look to be the most consistent team with a 5th & 3rd split and currently sit 2nd. We only need to produce a 2nd half performance for the entire 90 in just 1 game and we jump the most consistent team in the league, so whilst in the ‘minds eye’ it don’t look good there is positives to be had 🤷‍♂️ Obviously scoring goals wins matches, we start hitting the target more often & as it settles I’m sure we will then our base performance will start to push us to the fore I’m sure.

Away from the obvious worry about hackers, the thing about government knowing all our data anyway is both right and wrong, right in that yes independently they probably do & wrong in them being able to access that collective detail at their finger tips and cross refer because all depts aren’t linked as gov depts are a cluster #£&* behind the scenes. Despite the Leicester City thread still running red hot in bile I noticed that if Stoke played 1st today & lost to Norwich by 2 clear goals we would go 2nd. This is because the other 4 teams below us play each other, it’s then only QPR outside of that who win, could potentially put us 6th. The Carranza yellow was tough in that tv does show he was tapped and moved the leg across his standing leg which would have unbalanced him, how he goes down maybe needs working on yes, but what really gets me is commentators saying it was correct to give a yellow for simulation & yet let’s say it’s in the box and Haaland is Carranza in that situation it would be a penalty and the commentators would see he’s had his foot clipped 🤷‍♂️ Other thing was that their d’head CB wasn’t booked for just pushing Fatawu off the ball, no attempt to play the ball just pushed him, yes we got the foul but given where it happened and that Fatawu only had to skip past him he’s through on goal all be another defending coming in from his right but still, a foul but no yellow?

I do believe Soumare is only 2nd to Winks in the teams progressive passes, thats to say passes that make significant gains towards the opposition penalty box or passes into the opposition penalty box, you might think big deal but given that Winks has only played 3 games worth of minutes out of the 6 league games so far it doesn't bode well for the other players if Soumare is beating them on that stat. He was also part of the shield that protected the defence that kept both the leagues highest scorers & highest shot takers to just a few attempts. The own goal was far from a Sinclair style calamity it could have been anyone standing there & have the ball smash against their face. I think we see his lumbering gait & pick up everything & anything he does wrong despite if he does 'x' things bad but 'y' things good. Don't get me wrong i also want to look at a change but only once Ramsey is back & then he can have Ramsey-10, JJ-8 & Winks-6 because until that is possible it means having Ayew or BDCR as 10 which just weakens the midfield & would put a huge amount of workload on JJ. I don't think Page will be getting much of a lookin especially as a starter so drop Soumare you end up with Ayew or BDCR & what's the lesser evil?

For sure a case of what we lost, in my previous post We were feeling flush I guess settled in the top 10 He was really a victim of our decline with MoN leaving, Lennon going with him & going from having Heskey & Collymore to having a broken Sturridge, Benjamin, Deane & Akinbiyi burdened by Taylor putting a club record fee on him. The midfield went from a set 3 of Izzet Lennon & savage to Jones, Wise & 1 of the disinterested pair of Izzet & Savage. We went from Guppy on the LW to having Trevor Benjamin there all orchestrated by the 1 & only Peter taylor We were going down regardless of Akinbiyi signing or not

True I was going to add to a post earlier if we have a worst player thread should it really be called “The perception over perspective worst player” thread. Certainly the fee sticks in our heads along with relegation although as mentioned earlier he only did half the season before going on loan so he only with us for 1.5 seasons. As often mentioned when sticking up for players who came on big fees it’s not the players fault but for Akinbiyi it’s never mentioned. I also think really he came at a point of change, we’d just spent 5 years in the top 10 of the premier league, winning cups and playing in Europe….to then be managed by Peter Taylor.
