  1. They always say be careful what you wish for - King Power could go and we could end up with someone even worse, but tbh I think the relationship has massively soured in the last couple of years.
  2. Yeah, he's apparently 'by far the best candidate', but let's spend weeks literally trying to find anyone else. Utter nonsense from the club.

  4. ENZO MARESCA ENZO MARESCA YOUR FOOTBALL'S TRAGIC BUT POTTER'S MAGIC HIS WANDS ****ING MASSIVE
  5. Evens is buying money.
  6. Personally, I can't see any 'big' club taking a chance on him again any time soon, and when you look outside of the traditional 'top 6' in the PL, which clubs would really be a) realistic and b) an attractive option other than us? Maybe Newcastle? Though I think they'd potentially swerve him too. Maybe Southampton if they have a bad start? I think we give him a pretty attractive route back into PL football, I think his other options either have to be international management, or going abroad somewhere.
  7. No Iain Hume, Danny Tiatto, Matty Fryatt, James Wesolowski or Patrick Kisnorbo? What's wrong with you people
  8. If it was a straight shoot between Potter - who sounds like he'd need convincing - and Corberan - who sounds like he'd see it as a genuine step up - then I'd give it to Corberan to be honest. If Potter's just taking it because we're the only show in town and he's not really that arsed, then that's only going to end badly. I really rate the guy, but if he doesn't want it, then we shouldn't offer it.
  9. Probably been mentioned in here a bunch, but Gus Hamer for £15m is a steal and we should absolutely be going for him.
  10. I think they'll manage to hold on to a few players and have a really good season, been v impressed by Glasner.
  11. Brentford and Forest are both established Prem teams and they got 39 and 32pts respectively. My only point here is that it's not a given that we need 40 (or the equivalent of 48 - whatever the deduction is) to stay up. Let's set ourselves a target to aim for by all means, but it's not set in stone. We're not the only team in this league with problems, we probably won't be the only team finishing the season with a points deduction to be honest.
  12. Everton finished on 40 this season, a full 14pts above the drop zone. We're unlikely to have three teams that bad in the league this season, but 40 is not necessarily the magic number. He kept them in the league and built on that in the coming seasons, and for me that's all we really need at the minute.
  13. 31% is a fairly decent win rate tbh - especially as this was before Brighton were really thought of as a 'good' premier league club - if you look back at their squad back in 19/20, there were some good players, and players with potential, but they were hardly world beaters back then. His first couple of seasons were basically identical, but he improved in his third season, and his fourth was obviously cut short after he moved to Chelsea, but they were looking even better then. I'd be fairly pleased if we got him - I think anyone is going to have a bit of a job on this season, but if you can look beyond that then there's potential to do well with this club.
  14. Even 8-9pts is probably just the difference between turning a couple of draws into wins and a couple of losses into draws. It doesn't make it impossible for us to survive. Everton would have survived easily with a much bigger deduction, they ended up 14pts clear of relegation despite the -8 deduction.
  15. On paper you'd think it'd be a good move for him. All his friends and family are Solihull based apparently. Great facilities, a decent squad, likely to get long term backing from the board. If he can navigate this season, then there's no reason why can't get back to establishing ourselves in the league.
  16. I think he'll want to understand the extent to which he's likely to be backed too. You want to go into a job like this with your eyes open.
  17. Feels like it's no coincidence this has ramped up a little bit since the United/Ten Hag news yesterday. Hope we don't end up in a situation where we're publicly courting him, he rejects us, and whoever comes in is a clear second best choice.
  18. 'Would go as far as saying'? You've made it pretty clear in numerous posts that these are the exact kinds of managers you want us to go for. Are there any managers under the age of about 60 that you'd actually like to see us go for?
  19. Tuchel? I've always been under the impression he's a bit of a bottler? Fair play, he won the CL with Chelsea, but he's won next to nothing at Bayern and Dortmund - two of the biggest clubs in Germany and the world. If you're not sweeping the board domestically with Bayern Munich, you want shooting. Can't see why he keeps walking into top jobs, especially when he seems to have a track record of alienating his players too.
  20. https://the72.co.uk/2024/06/11/sheffield-wednesday-leicester-luton-dembele-to-leave-on-loan/ Not twitter, but didn't think it deserved it's own thread. Apparently we're interested in Karamoko Dembele.
  21. I'm surprised Cooper isn't holding out for England, they have got a long history of jobs for the boys, and he's been 'in the setup' already as it were.
  22. Completely different situation with a squad that never really should have been in trouble in the first place. If you want to compare our situation with some of his experience, take a look at what he did at Sunderland.
  23. Based on what?
  24. It's a Premier League job, one of the most high profile and well paid leagues in the world. And if you fail, you get a huge payoff. It's not like we're some tiny minnow club coming up either, the training ground is up there with the best in the world, there is a half decent squad there to work with. Yeah there's a lot of negatives, but there will be PLENTY of people that want it.
  25. Feel like Potter and Cooper would want a lot higher wages, and they'd probably demand big signing on fees - agents have made sure that bringing in free transfers isn't as cheap as it used to be. Not saying it would be cheaper to pay £4m for Corberan, but I think by the time you take into account the differences in wages etc, it might not be as much of a gulf as you think,
