  1. Very true, but far from denying the certain 1v1 which was made out.
  2. My point was that in the first still Hamza is already overcommitted in relation to the danger, no way he's pulling out the challenge. The point of contact is still 25 yards from goal the threat down the flanks 40 yards from goal. These are huge distances on a football pitch. I just don't undertsand why he flies in here, its a poor poor tackle. However, we have no choice but to move on.
  3. The tackle was garbage, no need to fly in there. Overlap is miles away, Borough striker plays it slowly square, Faes easily jogs over to cover, nowhere near a 1v1, which was why the ref pulled it back. Just an over committed rash challenge which we see all to often from Hamza.
  4. Vesty should not be back healing there, but that is absolute garbage from Hamza
  5. In the same way Winks is everything to Enzos style of playing in linking defense to mid to attack Janniks offer thats cool head and ball playing ability at the back, I can not recall him turning a ball over and for this reason I've also noticed forwards hardly bother to press him any more. Really enjoying his renaissance, easily our best defender this season.
  6. He's doing more than fine. If Coady is not fit he starts and may even start when he is fit because of his ball control. Coady will over some pace. Best of the 3 today. I though Faes had little to do with all the play down the right and Doyle struggled against Onyedinema allowing balls to be whipping in all game from Rotherhams right, more often than not Yannik has some involvement in dealing with the danger.
  7. Good win really. All Rotherhams play was down their right and to be fair Doyle struggled but dug in. Easy day for Faes and credit to Vesterguard again who is doing alright at filling in and I though was solid and calm on the ball again today. Winks excellent at linking defense to attack, always showing. KDH turned the ball over for to many times first half, but those driving runs are a real asset, just wish he could deleiver a decent final ball, sure that will come. Also if Mavadidi starts to finish he could easily get 20, he's managed to work very clear cut chances in ever game. Think it's a big week for Rudkin and the team, need to off load Castagne, Daka, Soumare, Soutter, can bit have 300 a week just rotting away. Also some striker cover needed. Look short if Kels gets a knock (assuming he stays). Credit to academy lads aswell, playing an important part, will only make them better.
  8. Pleased to see this thread getting some activity again. It seemed totally clear to me (in my view) that alot of our issues including the relegation came from poorly managed activities off the playing field where players had one eye out the door as a result poorly managed contracts, and club paralysed on developing itself through overpaid average players taking a disproportionate share of the budget. My thought is he will get away with any blame by keeping his head down long enough and somehow making a few decent signings on the rebuild.. of course this is at the cost of relegation and hundreds of millions of lost revenue. I could also be totally wrong in that a major director of a company who is clearly one of two directors making the major decisions is nothing to do with this situation and the blame lies with others, which would result in another massively overpaid role doing little to nothing at the club.
  9. Must be why they survived the drop then!
  10. What about Chris Wood again? surplus to Newcastle, didn't get much of a kick a Forest. Could be a good loan for us with us needing a few cheap and effective options and him looking to kick start his career again. Newcastle would cover the majority of his Salery.
  11. Rudkin must be replaced. On the pitch was a disaster- Rogers to blame and sacked. Off the pitch a total shambles, he must carry the can as DOF 1.Senior men relegated 2.Women scraping through just 3.U23s an awful season 4.Academy having no real quality knocking on the door 5.Millions of assets walking for free over expired contracts 6.First Team not backed at the start of the season resulting in negative feel to the whole season 7.Huge salary base even for fringe players 8.Millions wasted on poor recruitment Etc etc This is not Rogers for this, this is the board. It makes a shocking review and how this role could be argued that it doesn't need a fresh head is beyond me.
  12. Rogers was awful this season and as soon as he wasn't backed his negatively seeped into the team. Did we improve at all when he left... No, if fact I think we got worse. Rudkin and his colleagues have more blood on their hands for me as they kick started the whole farce of season, be it contracts, lack of signing and lack of funds.
  13. Always been a fan of Mendys style a true defensive midfielder, always offering the back line a short option to relieve pressure and take the energy out of a press. Easily overlooked as keeps play simple but always wants the ball. Complete opposite of a flair players who are reluctant to naturally sit deeper. This work goes unnoticed by many.
  14. Body language says a 1000 words. Top looks gutted, upset, frustrated. Hes about to lose 100s of millions off the valuation of his club and need to spend 100s more to recover it.
  15. Rudkin needs to be measured on his success over a rolling 5 period, that's typically how businesses work. The league title was a good starting point as this magic moment of madness (with that squad, that finished 12th the following season) gave us access to the top table for a period. At that moment the squad had a wage bill of 20 million? So roll forward 5 years and our wage bill sits at 80+ million, with two maybe 3 players who are worth 50+ million, my conclusion is we have been far to loose in what we pay and have a squad of good overpaid players, and a lot of average very overpaid players. Looking at these players, our two main sellable assets in Maddision and Tielemans are about to walk either for zero or no where near their value as we have completely failed from a business perspective to secure a resale either through a contract negotiations or selling on when we knew this was not happening. Looking at squad, we have 7/8 walking for free with no resale, all need replacing at the cost of 100s of millions. It thankfully gives us a chance to reset the mess. The club has secured loans against future TV money several years in advance to free up cash flow, which tells me we are struggling to pay our bills based on the current structure. Our academy (although it takes time) is yet to produce a player of real quality, a gem. What I see is currently producing at crop of Championship level/league one level players, no gems at all. All these are connected to the first team squad, acdemey off the pitch and falls at the DOFs door. So in my opinion since the title perhaps not a complete failure but where we stand now it looks that way. The next 5 years are going to take something really special to sort it out (of course I hope it does and its possible), but based on decisions and current situation in the last 5 years with what Rudkin has precided over do we want him to manage the next 5? For me I think it needs a fresh face with fresh ideas.
  16. Understand the logic to re-enforce, but as a director he should be accountable for me, thats why he will be a paid a huge salary as the road ultimately leads to the decision makers. A typical DOF overseas all football matters in the club, so it's his remit to understand the pathway from signing juniors (14+) to full blown academy to first team including succession planning, contracts at a strategic level. So looking at footballing matters, the club looks like its failed to plan, made poor signings, signed off in unsustainable contracts and players with a value are walking for free. All I suspect would of had his sign-off (we are talking millions here so all decisions will need a director signoff) so Frankly a mess. So he should be accountable and if its not him then it can only be a select few others and if not then what exactly is he doing day to day?
  17. The fact we are a complete shambles off the pitch with a full squad rebuild being required as well as expiring contracts poor recruitment, a stagnant academy and record accoutning losses falls at his door. Another position desperate for a refresh.
  18. Sticky plaster time. Pointless hunting for long term appointment, 4 year deals. It's who ever can stabilise us quickly and get the job of survival done. Needs to be a manager who has experience of working with nothing. Be that Rafa, be that whoever. Then hopefully breath a big sigh of releif and plan properly over the summer with someone who can manage a rebuild, hopefully not at championship level.
  19. He's one of the players who will always play back up in the Prem. That said it's important to have these in you're squad as relief (25-30K a week) but I just can not see him developing beyond this. He has to many attributes to work on and in 2 1/2 years he's 24 and entering his peak 3 years as a professional. if we continue to aspire to be top half of the tabke this will be his role.
  20. Tete will offer our centre mid so much more than they are used to. We've been predictable in directing all our wing play down the left all season to Barnes and now we can mix things up both directions. Barnes will also need to learn to cover as he now has a full back who wants to overlap at ever opportunity.
  21. I thought that was clever. Needed his aggressive energy last 10, he gets to enjoy being part of a win and perhaps we get something out of him in his last 6 months.
  22. Agree, but when we boo the back side out the players every other week at Home, whether it to get Rogers out or whatever it does not help. Nobody is happy with our current situation especially us fans (the the quality we are seeing is very poor, but then have to be realistic with the quality of the squad which with all the injuries and lack of investment is border line Premier league quality). I don't actually think replacing Rogers will change anything, our issues come from a lack of investment at a critical time. So regarless, I'll back the lads week in week out.
  23. Frustrating with how it ended but we have to be ok with a point there against a Brighton side who are poles apart from us. We are a total rebuild. I ask myself would Everton start Ward / Amartey / Thomas / Mendy / Albrighton or even Vardy today, I don't think so. We are where we are so have to get behind the lads and hope that injuries returning turn fortunes around and we survive, still half the season to go.
  24. If Rogers has to go then Rudkin should go with him. He's as much to blame for the mess we are in if not more. The fact our hands are totally tied financially and our squad depth is paper thin after a few injuries is totally down to him.
  25. Thomas reminds my of Stefan Oakes under Martin O'Neill. A player who is continually played, can look ok when the squad are performing and a potenital prospect but miles off the pace when the team is struggling. When Oakes was finally moved on he settled a Division 1 or lower.
