Anyone old enough to remember when Brian Little left for Villa? We had just been promoted and things were looking up. There was a bit of a buzz around the place, then Little left and I was furious, I was upset, angry and it’s only recently I’ve made peace and can look back and think what a great manager for the club he was. With Enzo, it’s weird, I don’t feel anything. It’s just a thanks for getting us up and good luck in the future mate. Who’s ip next? Now I don’t know if this is age, being so far away from the club, or just never fully taking to Enzo - I appreciate him, and think he’s done well, but never fully bought into Enzoball. Anyway good luck to him and here’s to starting the search for the new messiah!

It all adds to the excitement of a new season doesn’t it. So many things to look forward to. A new division, back in the top flight, a new manager/management team, new players to look forward to. There is never a dull moment with this club and we’ve just got to roll with it.

Has Cambiasso actually managed anywhere before?

I can’t see Enzo buying any of our players, but do you think he might come in for any of the out of contract players? Ndidi and Vestergaard have both played key roles in the way he like to play. FFP will mean Chelsea won’t have a lot to spend - unless they go down the Man City route if we don’t give a feck.

I can’t believe anyone would sell him, we saw after Kasper left and we had to play Ward how crucial the goalkeeper role is. I’ve got no doubt, if Mads had come in directly after Kasper left we’d have stayed up. We can’t take any chances, especially when we don’t have the resources to replace him.

I think there’s some rose tinted glasses here, go back through our managers in the 90s and point out the loyal one…

Loyalty surely works both ways? This was a month or so ago. We can’t expect loyalty form a manager and/or players if as soon as anything negative happens we hound them on social media and want them out.

No sour grapes, just pointing out Chelsea are very quick to pull the pin on their manager, unlike the other Big 5 teams. Career wise it’s almost certainly suicidal to go there if you haven’t already got a solid reputation in place. Yes, short term there’s a huge chance of working with some huge players and qualifying for Europe regularly, but they are miles behind Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City and need someone who can go there to rebuild - the problem is time and will you be given any? Since Jose left in 2015 they must have had 10 different managers in 9 years, hardly the place to go to build a reputation and be successful. The Man Utd job will be available soon, as will Peps at Man City - both of these will give you more time to build and make something of your career.

Of all the Big 5 clubs, Chelsea would be the least attractive for a big career move, it’s basically just cashed up Watford and you won’t last more than 2 seasons, even if you win trophies.

Just kicked off in the 1/4 final v Brighton. Silko Thomas sent off in the first 5 minutes. 0-0 at half time. Penalty Leicester!! 1-0 Marcal 1-1 with 2 minutes to go and we’ve lost it 2-1 with the last kick off the game.

So we’ve now won the group and go on to tomorrow with a good chance. I think Villa are probably the team to beat, but we aren’t looking too bad at all.
