Not sure the January splurge was the only issue. We probably have broken FFP without that.

Still makes a difference to our FFP position. We still also have a pull down loan facility with KP in place. -
It's not about how much you have, but what you do with what you have.
-
People just need to let it go.

It's all about attitude and application of the talent. Bournemouth drove me mad like most PL clubs, I think they have lost sight of why we play football, to win trophies. Chelsea are a young side, which seem to go from really good to really bad game to game. We could be at our best and still get beat. For me let's just make them work for it, don't be a middlesbrough and be out of it after 15 minutes. They were pretty good last night, but I've also seen the same players look poor. For me it's about making the game close.

100% we need to have a good day and they need to have a bad day at office. They are definitely beatable on the day as they have had plenty of bad days this season.

Flexibility is important, you need to be able to adjust, we just went of the tipping point on amortisation and wages, which took that away from us. When things are going fo well you can become a little lazy and stop doing the hard yards. 100%, Rodgers should have gone after finishing 8th and going 18 months without being able to sort our defensive and set pieces issues. The likes of Tielemans, Soyuncu, Maddison and Ndidi should have been sold at the right time and the noney reinvested. At some point that would have been 180m + worth of talent and we only recouped 38m. (The 4 cost us 97m to buy)

I think it's people like my old man at 78 who still listen to RL on a regular basis for their City info. Use to love the goal horn as a kid.

Everyone have to accept we reached to far to quickly especially on wages. Break the glass ceiling into regularly competing for Europe football is very difficult. Brighton are held up as a model club but have managed 1 season European football and look like struggle to achieve it again. Newcastle similarly are struggle to do back to back qualification, West Ham also. Rodgers time ended badly but I think we underplay how successful we were over those two seasons.

I'd agree, I think more high 90s, probably 98 to get automatic and 103-4 to win the league.
-
Neville Foulger voice was very distinctive.
-
I agree! I think it was an over reaction to playing it far to safe in the two winter windows which cost us CL football. Sometimes when you under play a hand you over play the next.

@Ric Flair the real damage was done in the 21/22 accounts when the club lost 93m. I think that summer after finishing 5th twice the club convinced themselves or were convinced by Rogers that they could finally crack the top 4, if we could keep the squad together and add some extra depth. Keep in mind we had lost out by 1 point the season before and 4 point in 19/20, which was generally down to running out of legs and bodies. With Champion League football we would have been fine, but by then Rodgers ability to get the most out of the squad had diminished and we finished 8th. It was a calculated gamble, which back fired massively and we have been firefighting ever since. We are the first and will not be the last club to over extend ourselves.

Yes he was highly unlikely to get it back. However it's help the club, even though we never paid interest on the loans it was accrued and went down as a - figure in the accounts. Removing the interest payment from the account helps us get near to meeting FFP. -

Top wrote of 193m in loans owed to KP in February 2023. Does that sound like a man losing interest. -
They didn't allow bigger loses, it was averaged out, to flatten the impact of COVID. So the loses of 19/20, 20/21 were add together then divide by to 2. So you had a four year period, still split up into 3 periods against the 105m limit.

All seems a little Watford….

I do wonder what the club's opinion on Zach Booth is; 19 appearances in the Eredivisie for FC Volendam isn't too shabby. He started with limited minutes but has found his way into becoming a regular start in the last 6 games, getting 80 minutes plus, bang a couple of goals.

Stefan is always a good listen; I recommend following him on Twitter as well. What you should also take from the conversation is that even someone as knowledgeable on the subject as he can only guess without access to the accounts. Until the accounts are published, it is all heresy and conjecture. -

Good question, they are still doing on a 3 year period, how much head room you has in your two pervious PL seasons would have an impact. -
Don't think they have drop them for last season, due to things being so tight.

Yes, we would be, just. I think this route is better. Also easier to punish, rather then docking points you reduced the spending cap when any team breaches. -
Different scenario, she was directly his manager, relationship happen in the work place but it's not appropriate to be in a relationship with someone you directly manage. Also birmingham sold him pretty quickly within the year, things have also changed a lot in 30 years.

Us Everton and Forest will be treated the same as we all defaulted for the 22/23 season. If we do get charged.
