I can only imagine it’s because we’ve got to clear out more players before any incomings (Faes, BEK, Winks etc) the club don’t want to find themselves in a situation where they bring players in now and then for whatever reason the sales of the players mentioned above (and maybe others) collapse and they are left in the shit. its a very risky game tho as some of these outgoings may not happen till deadline day

Perhaps we have agreed something in principle with the EFL, that if adhered to, will mean we avoid a points deduction. Having said that it doesn’t mean we can’t bring players in it just means we have to seek extra ratification from the EFL to get the incomings rubber stamped

I remember back in the Nige, Steve Walsh (recruitment) days when they specifically looked at the character of players as part of player profiling and they actively targeted ‘captain material’ with the likes of Schmeichel, Morgan, Fuchs, Hammond, Powell, Brown (!?), Wasilewski, Phillips etc. All this sulking and ‘woe is me’ bs wouldn’t have happened under their watch Edit: Schmeichel was a SGE signing

He’s a good egg. Our best technical player by a clear margin. Gives the ball away at times but he’s the only one in that midfield brave enough (and capable) of playing the eye of a needle pass. if we somehow manage to hold on to him then I think we can have a chance of playoffs at least

I know they’ve been overly discussed but my goodness Skipp and Soumare are dreadful. Soumare we know but I had a small inkling of hope that Skipp would produce at this lower level but he seems just as inept as he did at Prem level. Him (and Daka!) just run around aimlessly and offer barely anything - it’s almost like playing with less than eleven Marti has a big issue here as it’ll take decent investment to resolve this CM issue and we don’t have the funds. Glover needs to find him a loan

The KDH, N’didi & Winks triangle was very effective last time round - the current crop is not on the same level

This match is a reminder that if you can dominate the game in the middle of the park and get the ball out wide quickly on the transition you’ll win games in this division. last time round we had both N’didi and KDH who could do the first part…my concern is we don’t have those players now
