Saturday 3 August v FC Augsburg pre-season friendly
Tielemans63 replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
What's the record for the lowest goals scored in a Premier League season? Asking for a friend. -
“We want to add players to the squad, particularly at the top end of the pitch. That’s what we’re trying to do. We were so close to getting a few in this week that haven’t quite worked out. So we’ll move onto the next ones. "We know where we want to strengthen, we know where we want to improve. If we can improve a starter in the team, we’ll do that, and we know we need to strengthen the competition in some places as well." Another feather in Rudkin's cap.

Welcome to Leicester City, Steve. You'll get used to that

Not sure about signing a Colombian, though. Could be an issue when it comes to AFCON.

Thanks for the info. In your opinion, what do you think is a reasonable fee him out of interest? -

What a guy -
Rest in peace, Craig. 60 is absolutely nothing. Feel desperately for his family

This isn't a dig at Rudkin directly, more the leadership at the club, however I'm not sure where else to post this. Are the club actually serious about staying up? Genuine question. With the PSR problems and points deduction on the horizon, I'm wondering if they're thinking that it's not worth throwing money at right now. Maybe they're taking the view that we're unlikely to stay up with the restrictions so keep our powder dry, don't spend too much and see where we're at after this season when we'll know where we stand In terms of sanctions. Might explain the total lack of urgency in the transfer market. I appreciate this would be a hell of a risk, but the board have gambled on the club's future in the past. I just can't think of another reason for us being so inactive in improving the squad. The appointment of Cooper looked a bit half-arsed too.

I think a fair few of us are wondering why were we wasting our time negotiating with a player who was never interested in joining us? There's being ambitious, then there's being deluded. The squad looks threadbare and it seems we put a lot of work into trying to secure a deal with a completely disinterested player. Doesn't look great does it? Especially when Soule chucks in the extra dig about the sporting project.

Totally agree. Dead right. Better players have left the club than have so far been recruited. -

No-one, mate. Someone parroting Nixon, who himself is a guess merchant. -

Other than Nixon's pretty obvious attempt to spark some interest in his Patreon, this hasn't actually been reported by any other source, correct? -
I thought Cooper's post-match interview after the Palermo game was interesting. Talked about the urgent need to get players in and sounded frustrated to me. This after he talked about strengthening the squad as quickly as possible when he first got the job. This after both Enzo and Bodgers expressed their displeasure with the club's impotence in the transfer market and their anger at broken promises. It's mind-boggling to me that someone this objectively bad at their job can have lasted this long. Top's loyalty to Rudkin actually makes me resent Top when I really don't want to at all. I just think it's unforgivable that he doesn't put what is best for the club above his loyalty to JR. If he can't actually see it, that's even worse.

Fast forward two years, he's 34, not in the side, on a decent wedge and we can't get rid. I've seen this film before -

I think that's exactly what we're doing. Padding out the squad with average players on big money. Definitely can't see any potential issues with that strategy -

I'd rather be shot out of a cannon then us sign this guy. -
Smokescreen for Ayew arriving on a 3 year deal

Maybe we could give it to one of the academy coaches? There must be someone who is completely unqualified for the role, who would be absolutely ideal.
