I think his strenght and tenacity in the middle of the park form the basis of what we are all about. If he continues to get into the side, his midfield bursts will improve. You need players who will consistantly give you a 7/8 out of 10 performance, hence why Albrighton gets into the side more regularly that the flashy Gray! Granted, he is not a Muzzy Izzett, but we don't need him to be! I am a fan of Matty and really hopes he stays injury free for a few years.

Watford (H) post-match thread (2-0 home win)

Vardy is quality for us. He plays that lone striker role so well. N'didi was superb and if he continues to develop the way he is, we will have one hell of a player! Maty James is getting better, very pleased for him. Maguire was a collosus and Dragovic put in a steady showing. They stifled Riyhad well but his class showed in the end. Albrighton had a good second half. Chilly was solid enough. -
Nice to see a more patient, posession based approach. Very comfortable in the end.

Here here! I'm a fan of James. Commited as it gets with the odd smattering of quality. Solid player and had a grwat game today!

I agree Bert. Definsively he can be very naive at times. Don't get me wrong, he is a real prospect and COULD be a very good player in the future. He is only recognised more thn Morgan at the momet because of his forays into midfiled and occasional crossfield pass.

Matty James is better than King. At least he puts himself about and is a presence. King does not impact the game defensively or in attack and that is worrying from a central midfielder.

Even the great Sir Alex made some poor signings. Obertan, Bebe, Veron, Djemba Djemba, Kleberson, Taibi to name a few. It's a simple fact that some will fail and some will flourish and it's difficult to know exaclty how that will pan out until they are integrated.

I think we always look at safety first when buying a full back i.e, can he cover the centre backs and defend properly first and foremost!
-
Look, he's alright byt that's all. If we want to push the top teams then he smply wont be good enough, but he's a solid enough premier league player.

Don't do this to us @Micky

I see your point, but lets be honest, on any other day it could have been 3 or 4 by half time!

The problem is that our tactic against liverpool was sit sit back and soak it up and be SOLID. Unfortuantely we aren't very solid at all at the moment, that is one of our weaknesses. We are a far better team, playing on the front foot. There are a lot better teams defensively that are below us in the table. Just look at how Palace defended against City today and how WBA defended against Arsenal, WBA in particular have built their whole philosophy under Pullis on being excellently defensively. Was it a case of right tactics poorly executed? Who knows! It would have been interesting to see what the result would have been if we would have pressured them with the high press and took the game to them, because our goal actually came from a mistake after a bit of pressure.

Sentiment now needs to go out of the window. You can't play king in a midfield 2, he just does not impact the game enough defensively or in attack. Not at the level needed to be a premier league player I'm afraid. Great person to have a round the club, just not anywhere near the starting 11 please.

Kasper Strengths. Brilliant at 1 on 1n's, reaction saves, Weaknesses. Not the best at saving free kicks. He gives the taker too big a gap to aim for when they are standing over it. Sometimes tries to be too clever in trying to anticipate things that aren't necessarily going to happen. Doesn't command his area amazingly. His distribution can be brilliant or poor. In my opinion he has saved us far more points than he has lost us. He is suffering from a lack of form that's all.
