It's the principle though. He has a good season and things pick up for us, then suddenly he's worth a lot more than he is now. Obviously the argument against that is that you're getting the guaranteed money and a free loan out of it but would rather we take the risk.

He really isn't (at least currently). Watson was very Mavididi-esque in his performance on Saturday, but still not half as ponderous and wasteful as Mavididi. He needs a fresh start where he can regain some confidence.

Had to define whether he has a bad attitude because it's more than he's so miserable and makes Wilf Zaha look he never sulks. Head drops faster than any other player I've seen. I actually think he works reasonably hard, it's just that when you combine the above with the fact he makes poor decisions, he'll leave the defence exposed a lot. Should still be a good player at that level if he finds his confidence. But I will say, last year was the worst performance from an outfield Leicester player I've seen in 30 years of supporting. If he'd been extremely wasteful when the ball was fed to him, he'd still have got at least 10 G+A, so the fact, he only managed 5 tells you how poor he was.

Amortisation not so important this year, it's more about pure cash flow. So saving his wages will absolutely be worth it. And we will 100% either get a decent fee and some wages, or at least all his wages if no fee. Let's say his wages have dropped to £20k a week, then paying just that and no fee for a player is completely doable in any league top flight league so his options are wide open. Absolute peanuts and 0 risk for any club in the top 5 European leagues.

Shame? Guy has stolen a living, and repeatedly broken the law. If we'd given half the academy players the chances he'd got, majority of them would have done more with it. Great to get him out of this club

Find that entirely implausible. Even if it was sensible (good argument to say it is), there's no way we'd be paying another club to take a player we're using. We turn down money for players we struggle to get rid off so no chance with board

He's not

Na, he came back a different player after the under 17 World Cup (I think it was). Physically just totally different. Then he made a few appearances and looked a class above the other midfielders but obviously that wasn't right, so had to be booted out of the team for Winks because he was so committed to the cause... Not sure him being in the team would have kept us up, but it certainly would have improved our chances.

Had our pants down? We paid £75k for the pair . They might be awful signings but that will down to our stupidity to get them on 3 year deals and absolutely nothing to do with Ipswich making good deals

Fair points but his substitution/game management was atrocious today. Forced into an early sub we means you lose a window. Burns was so bad he should have gone at half time because that also saves you a sub window. Instead he didn't do that and made another single sub at 60 mins. So now you've got only 1 more opportunity to make subs which means you're unlikely to gamble and bring on anybody for another 15/20 mins (as he did) because then you'd be down to 10 players if somebody got injured. Alves therefore on the pitch way too late. So all in all, that's was so poor. But general performance was very good today. It's just that we can't do anything when we reach the 18 yard box and we've always got the ability to gift the other team a goal.
