  1. And where the hell was he meant to go? The other direction and full on into contact . So basically he should just not have run with ball and given it straight back to Chelsea? Actually, that does sound like a Steve Cooper plan
  2. Not a pen. We've been pathetic and I doubt a competent referee would change anything but he really has been awful
  3. Gives a foul every time Cucurella gets touched but when it should go the other way, it's not a foul. Disgraceful officiating.
  4. Jesus. Soumare does actually have some pace
  5. BEK has been quality at least
  6. 3 midfielders booked yet we haven't applied any pressure
  7. This is utterly pathetic. Faes is absolutely abysmal
  8. Yippee. Another key player gone.
  9. 21st biggest fanbase based on what exactly? As somebody who has never lived anywhere near Leicester but supported City for nearly 30 years, the amount of Leicester fans I've met over the years (not at anything to do with Leicester) is genuinely more than any club outside of the 'big 6' excluding Man City, and maybe West Ham. Granted I'm obviously going to be more aware of it than if somebody supports another club, but I'd love to know where you're getting these stats from. But another post that just wants to ignore all relevant context and talk about our historic position. Given where we were 5 years ago, our current situation should not have been in the equation for another 10 years at least, if not managed catastrophically by the ownership.
  10. Genius. You even got the crap formatting right
  11. I suppose that at least he's had a quick op and they're so frequent now, many players come back just fine. Time will tell. Sorry to hear that buddy . The only crumb of comfort is that you have had a second op before you've made it worse. Sounds like you've had it worse and I've long since made peace with mine. Did it when I was 25 but already knew I didn't want to keep playing 11 a side after 30 (and get the **** kicked out of you every week) so it's probably done you a favour there . I put my eggs in the golf basket as well. It's just pushing past the psychological barriers as much as anything. At least it's a game for old men
  12. The difference at elite sport level is massive though. The fact he's already had it operated on and that's his starting fitness/muscle levels will be very high, massively reduces the potential long term impact. That and he'll get daily care and monitoring means he'll be in a great place. Like you, my rehab was grim; 18 months and it took probably less than 60 seconds in my first match back to do it again. Can never play football or any contact sport again, and can't really run either. But that's partly because I had a particularly bad ACL injury but also because I wasn't given the care or attention Abdul will get. I'm sure he'll be ok.
  13. Hate to break it to you but Toys R Us still exists
  14. Puel was in unprecedented circumstances though. As as dull as it was, it's not even remotely close to the utter disaster that the Rodgers situation was.
  15. Not sure where you got that quote from because it's not true. They actually said about multiplying the dumplings so let's not spread misinformation...
  16. Even putting that aside, with it being such a big brand, there's loads of long term potential for the sum to increase. On top of that, as strange as it sounds with them sponsoring us and not the other way around, it would also massively increase our exposure if it was a holistic/cohesive sponsorship. Unless we're talking several million difference, it's so stupid.
  17. Is that Rudders' nickname now? Surprisingly polite.
  18. We did exactly this with Rodgers when things were even more dire with much higher expectations. The leadership group at the club are absolute morons and no idea why anyone would think differently.
  19. Insert Danny Ward joke here
  20. Yeah hopefully the £20m+ we'd need to replace Abdul...
  21. But not in the same way and not nearly as often. Plus he could absolutely dominate attackers, something that Faes can't do. Soyuncu was a front foot defender so he would of course run the risk of making an error but at his best, that rarely happened. He got in the PFA team of the year here and over in Germany so it's hardly like it was a flash in the pan. He was a brilliant player who lost confidence and has never found it again. Definitely needed a defender who could marshall the backline (Evans was that guy).
  22. True but the partial tear would indicate that it can heal itself (it's normally when it's fully detached that it cannot heal). Regardless, you'd imagine it's not quite as serious but could range anywhere from precautionary to several months out
  23. Exactly. I understand the comparison on a very basic level but Soyuncu at his best was immense (got in the PFA team of the year). And even when it all went wrong for him, it wasn't like he made a huge mistake (could be a positional error, bad pass etc.) every single game which Faes does, almost without fail (even if that doesn't lead to a goal). Because of that, he's simply not a good defender and I don't understand why some people think he is. His dominant performances aren't anywhere near the level of Soyuncu/Fofana and he's still giving up a glorious chance to the opposition once a game. Pointless him having a good game and then doing that as it undoes all that work. Individual success in football is so much about timing and confidence, something we should know better than any other fanbase. We've had tonnes of players that went from a decent championship player for most of their career to suddenly becoming a good PL player. Would have been interesting to see what level Soyuncu stayed at if these 2 things aligned for him.
  24. Not sure I get the logic in that. If a player is really good, the test will be whether we're willing to let them make the next step to a bigger club, which we've proven we will. Why would us keeping crap players help attract others? Probably have the opposite effect if anything as they'd think the club has no ambition and will be lumbered with poor players, limiting the ability to improve the squad.
  25. Definitely not. Always makes me a bit sad that he stayed long enough to start souring his legacy (obviously, only but a fraction but still). Want to hold onto all the fond memories not tarnish it with new, and probably worse, memories.
