  1. More than 20 people do at present. One of the loudest chants going yesterday.
  2. He doesn't know that a three-word song - of which two of the words are *his own name* - is about him?
  3. Really excited to hear the next area of the ground the demented flag-wavers can't be heard from!
  4. Had a really good couple of post-match pints of Charnwood Blue Fox at The Ale Wagon - even the Rugger Bugger Christmas Jumper Banter Merchants at the next table didn't spoil my enjoyment.
  5. Fvcking hell, really? 4-0 up and I reckon the lads who give it their best all game, every game are entitled to have a bit of fun with what they choose to sing. Ah well, whatever. Don't like it then the solution is simple... outsing them.
  6. Section was great yesterday. Weird to say but it's not always easy to keep a good atmosphere going when games are one-sided like that, so credit to those who did. Loved LSF going well too. As for whoever asked about why Ben Nelson's got a chant... it was just a spontaneous thing - something I know will shock a few on here who bizzarely think every chant coming from that part of the ground is rehearsed and scheduled in advance.
  7. Nowhere considered a decent place to watch the Six Nations is ever going to be a good boozer (apart from Wales).
  8. Did the King Charles after Arsenal last season. Would have made a return visit if I wasn't pushed for time. Will remember Mcglynns for future reference. Irish gaff, I'm guessing?
  9. *Something* (can't recall what) at the Scottish Stores, near King's Cross, after my work Christmas Do. A Gipsy Hill Bandit pale ale in the Betjeman Arms before that. Found Young's London Original a good session ale.
  10. Yes, we did. Best pyro display I've seen in the flesh from 1860. Really great numbers too given Munich station was closed all weekend because of the snow down there. Was the coldest I've ever been at a football match so we sacked it off at half-time though - even the Glühwein (terrace drink of choice for the weekend) wasn't touching the sides in that weather. Wattenscheid was off due to the weather so we opted for Concordia Wiemalhausen (sixth tier), only for the ref to then call that off 10 minutes before kick-off. The Football Museum was great though. Spent nearly three hours in there and imagine a native German speaker could easily do double that. There's an exhibit about the Geoff Hurst "Russian linesman" goal that's made to resemble a crime scene, which gave my old man a chuckle. His first time in Germany and he loved the experience of it all.
  11. I think "pivko" was the colloquial way of saying it.
  12. Only learnt it phonetically from a Czech colleague at the time but remember "eeno pivko broseen" being how you asked for a beer. Ensured I always got a fuller pint than my mates when we were over there. Only other Czech phrase I can remember by heart is how to wish someone Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Fvck knows why.
  13. Hinckley probably could if it wasn't so run down (assuming it hasn't changed since I last played there around 10 years ago). It's a shame Harborough were never willing to play the 2nd XI hosting game or they might have had a shot, buy always on to a loser up against Kibworth's millions in that part of the county anyway.
  14. Such a shame he didn't manage to achieve more with England. He deserved to.
  15. Proper nice vibe to town post-match. A guy in an Aquascutum scarf kissed my hand on Granby Street - still not sure why.
  16. Top of the league, winning with ease... and still the excuses come. Just admit you don't want to sing and be done with it.
  17. No, on the Harborough Road. Forget the name of the area. But, as you say, it's rife with ropey estates.
  18. I'm not trying to be funny but what did you expect in J3?
  19. Only place I've ever seen two people banging in the street. In broad daylight, by a main road too.
  20. Buzzing for this tifo today. Think it's one people will enjoy.
  21. Tallies with my experiences there too...
  22. Edit: Wrong thread
  23. It usually is, I think? Quarters only being a week before is an absolute disgrace though.
  24. Fixtures out today. More games over weekends, so fair play to the ECB for that at least...
  25. Don't want to get too political in this thread but I wonder what effect losing in a stadium bearing his name will have on his career. I read he planned to call an election in the event of an India win!
