Every side in the division is evolving and integrating new players. New Villa signing scored for them Saturday and they won. New Fulham signing scored for them against us and they won. It's fine margins of course but they add up. These clubs are just operating better than we are in general, hence their improvement in the last few years and our significant downturn.

Yep. One mentality I absolutely despise is the one where people excuse dropping points because "it's early in the season". Are points less valuable at the start of the season? Are players and the manager being paid less at the start of the season? It's a loser mentality and the same people will be looking round at the end of the season when we get relegated by a point or two wondering what went wrong.

The club hate general sale as they can't keep tabs on who is in the stadium. That won't ever change under this ownership so until they go, the resistance towards general sale will remain.

They're not comparable examples though. Simpson and Albrighton were both new signings that season and Mahrez had been here 6 months. Ricardo and Mavididi are established here and were two of our best players last season. That's like Pearson dropping Nugent and Kasper after getting promoted which he obviously didn't do. You're right that Cooper won't get to 30 game though.
