He’s got a dad bod… LOVE IT!

Correct, even if it’s just a simple administration change, we all know how long that takes in the UK. Ticking a box takes around 10 business days 🙄

This is the biggest problem at the club and it’s filtered down to the players, look at the Winks situation, Vestegaard etc. Our stance should be one of a club not manager to manager. If you know a managers gonna get the sack anyway then why care because it’ll all be forgotten about when the next man steps in. Then at board level we’ve proven through our “internal reviews” that no matter what you do you’ll still have a job anyways as your liked. I dread to think how anyone with any ambition at board level feels working with these gimps.

How are governing bodies still allowing this shit to happen? That’s where my issues stems. As others have said, football has become “if you can’t beat them, join them”. Even Simon Jordan stated with regards to our PSR loophole, ultimately if you can get away with it, most clubs would to stay competitive regardless of the moral side of things, otherwise you fall behind. The exact same with the PSR issues with selling training grounds and women teams for hugely inflated prices. They’ve become a laughing stock, doesn’t take much to review a set of rules and make adjustments. They was quick enough to do it when we made them look like idiots but turn a blind eye when it’s bringing money into the English leagues. Vile. -
From next week there’s still 6 weeks left of the transfer window & I am sure the loan window is even longer than that. Plenty of time to do business. I would imagine Martí has been sent a lot of film to watch so he has an idea of what the majority of players are like already. It’ll mainly be the young lads he wants to assess. Truth be told prior to players being sold, we only really need a back up goalkeeper and a striker. Dependent on how he see’s Ayew we may not even feel that we need a striker. The majority of our signings will simply be replacing what’s left.

Praying your fishing for a bite here

Based of current squad and the expectation that Mads has left or isn’t fit, for the first game of the season I would go with this. Fatawu is on the bench as I don’t think he’ll be ready for 90 minutes and Monga on the right instead of Alves (they don’t have Monga’s profile on there yet. Bench: Bausor Aluko Thomas Skipp Page McAteer Alves Fatawu Daka No space for Faes, Coady, Vestergaard, VK, Soumare or BDCR. Send a message to both players and agents that there future isn’t at the club.

Knowing us that’ll be our argument in our PSR court hearing! “But we tried to show we are trying, we appointed the gaffer 2 days later than we wanted to”.

For me he will be remembered as the man who crippled his dad’s legacy due to being a people pleaser and wanting to forge good relationships rather than being business savvy. He doesn’t have the bottle to make tough decisions, something his dad had no concerns with doing.

That would make complete sense. With regards to the current playing squad I think fans are getting a bit worked up for no reason. The first 2 pre-season games are all about minutes in the legs, hence why we see so many academy players involved. The final 3 pre season games are the ones that you start getting an idea of who the starting 11 will be, I would imagine the academy lads will start reducing heavily in terms of minutes. The marathon game against OHL was clearly for the new manager to see all players including academy lads, otherwise the U21’s would have just played a separate game. The problem side of it is recruitment, without a new manager seeing these lads directly he’s not going to be able to identify where he feels we need strengthening, other than the obvious areas such as striker or back up keeper.

Exactly my thought process. We currently have 6 fullbacks, even with Kristensen leaving we have Thomas, Woyo, JJ and Aluko all capable of playing on the left. Unless they are planning to send Aluko on loan, he offers great depth as 4th/5th choice at both centre back and fullback. Not needed.
-
I mean they have got the red bull water coolers in a fair few training videos 👀
-
One of JJ, Woyo or Aluko is good enough to compete with Thomas this year. Save the money and invest in a left back when we secure promotion back to the premier league.
-
What app do you use for this lay out for the squad?
-
The key part was getting them traits but for free. Reason I suggested Keane, is because we desperately need a left footed centre back.
-
Arguably the best right back in the division and people say he’s not ready to start yet. Whether he should or not is a different question.

To be honest the squad doesn’t really need much, at most 4 signings as far as I’m concerned, Focusing mainly on free agents to reset PSR and spend whatever budget we do have on a quality striker. I expect us to only bring in a GK and CM though. GK - Begovic - That goalkeeper room needs some experience in it. Begovic is a very good No. 2 goalkeeper in the championship, experience through the roof at the top level, previously managed by Marti. CB - Michael Keane or Lascelles - Dependent on if we can get all three of Coady, Faes and Vesty off the books. Get a cheap leader with experience as 3rd/4th choice, more leadership needed with the squad likely to be so young. CM - Josh Brownhill - Fits Marti’s system in a 4-3-3 like a glove. Offers goal contributions and more natural in the No.8 role than any other midfielder on the books. ST - Fotis Ioanndis - Bit of a gamble this one as he had a poor season last year. But his style of play again fits us like a glove. Focusing more on fit than goal return. I don’t have much knowledge of strikers across Europe that could be available. I wouldn’t be surprised if we stick with Daka, Ayew and Evans however. SQUAD: GK - Jakub, Begovic, Bausor Fullbacks - JJ, Ricky, Woyo, Thomas, Aluko Centre backs - Okoli, Nelson, New signing, Soutts, Aluko Centre Mid - Winks, Skipp, Hamza, new signing, Page Attacking Mid - Bilal, Alves, Monga, Evans Wingers - Abdul, Mav, McAteer, Monga, Alves, Wanya Strikers - New signing, Daka, Evans

I know from previous he’s held a bit of a grudge against the club because of the way he was overlooked. Agent was in contact with the club in the past, zero interest in return.
-
Talk for yourself…. VAMOSSSSS!
-
He’s had a tendency to prefer athletic defenders, which would bode well for us wanting a partnership of Okoli and Nelson.

Crazy if true and Iraola is only on £1m a year. https://www.givemesport.com/premier-league-managers-salary/

Tbh I find this a positive, we need to get back to people wanting to come here because they want to be here rather than collecting a nice pay check. Also positive from a PSR perspective, now just got to get Rudkin agreeing on transfer fee’s.
-
Agree, but I think it’ll be done Friday with him observing the game from the balcony on Saturday with Kingy taking the game.
-
£20k a week is a low end premier league manager / higher championship wage is it not? From what I’ve seen a couple of premier league managers were earning around £1m per year.
