My Palace mate said he's a good signing but he also loves Ayew
-
I did as well mate and I'd agree. Stone Roses atmosphere was class. I've seen Liam a few times and I'm always on edge.

I'm torn. Their songs still resonate with people all these years later. It gives those who couldn't see them the chance to see them. That being said, crowds are usually full of dickheads.

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
leicesterlad1989 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Certainly a meh signing although he's joining us after one of his better seasons with 11 goal involvements in 35 games. I'll settle for that again. FWIW my friends a Palace season ticket holder and is gutted to see him go. -
Bobby De Cordova-Reid joins permanently - Official

It wasn't part of the game plan and we were awful. Cooper has spoken about trying to address how we were first half as tatically that wasn't what he wanted. Second half was more what he expected. As a team we seemed to push a yard further up the pitch. For me, his position is one that's up for grabs. -
Leicester 1- 1 Tottenham Post Match Thread
leicesterlad1989 replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
One of footballs biggest clichés but it was a game of two halves. First half I thought we were shocking. I really struggled to see how we were setup. We gave them too much respect and gifted them so much space on our right hand side, which they easily exploited. Second half we just pushed further forward. Ndidi pressed further up field and got out of Winks' pocket. Ultimately we showed fight and as soon as we got the goal our confidence, both in the stands and on the pitch grew. We are a team that will be fighting relegation. Points like this are massive. This should be a confidence boost to fans and the players. Hopefully we get some players in, to improve us further. -
I'll reserve my judgement until the window has closed. It's an area in which he will no doubt strengthen but there's clear priorities in other area of the pitch. Also, I find it mental that we sell KDH, who progress through our academy, in order to meet PSR or whatever ruling it is, to then sign a player for a similar amount of money, who coincidentally came through the Spurs academy. The whole financial thing is a joke.

The dawn of a new season is suppose to bring a sense of excitement, particularly for promoted teams. I just feel a sense of dread. The fact our opening game is on a Monday doesn't help matters either. I'm not entitled. I don't expect us to stay up. I don't expect a certain style of football. I will give Cooper a chance. I will cheer the team on every game but what is going on off the pitch is disgusting. Its making me fall out of love with football. Where is the communication between the club and fans? 2 years ago we clearly had financial problems. If that had been communicated to the fans, we'd have rallied round. Who knows what could have happened. Instead we had a half arsed Rodgers managing us, after clear broken promises from the club. We enter this season in a similar vain albeit with a much much worse squad. Our only hope this season is embracing an under dog status. We clearly can't rely upon the club to help us.

Not a fan then? 🤣 I think Palace have improved as they have a good manager rather than Zaha leaving. I'm good friends with a Palace fan and he'd take him back in a heartbeat. Granted, small sample size. Similar to you, I've always thought he's flattered to deceive but I've also thought that he could have made a step up to a better quality team. Seemingly it never really worked out for him. Would he improve us? Yes. In our current circumstances, I'd take a season of him being selfish and banging in some goals because currently I struggle to see where ours will come from. A front 3 of Zaha, Mavididi and Fatawu could at least provide an element of excitement. Personally I don't see him signing. Still has Palace written all over it.

I share your pain but I managed the psychological aspect by finding a sport/training style to compliment the growth. I've competed in powerlifting for the last 6 years. I am at a decent level nationally. I now look at my body of a byproduct of my strength. Also lifting in a sport where there are weight categories also helps keep my weight steady. The other, more boring way of doing it is tracking calories and gradually increasing, which will prevent a sudden weight gain.

Cant even spell LEE correct, so **** him.

But those players were already on our books and on long term contracts. Signing a player with two serious knee injuries is a big risk. If statistically he looked great prior to injuries then im sure we'd be a little excited about the potential signing. As it stands he seems crap and most haven't heard of him. I find it weirder if people weren't questioning this sort of deal.

Efficient football. Play to the players abilities, the opposition and the situation in the match. Don't be dicking about at the back with the ball when holding onto a slender lead in the last minute.
-
Under Enzo I understood him signing an extension given how important he was for how we'd play. But 3 years! Even under Enzo I'd question that.

Club legend. Was with us at our lowest and highest moments. Always lead and contributed on the pitch. Seems a likeable guy off the pitch too. Happy retirement 💙

Who do you want for next season in the PL
leicesterlad1989 replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
Apart from that. Spot on mate. Bleak Future is that's what we are aiming for. -
I've been critical of Enzo, especially in the past 6 weeks or so but full credit to him last night. I think they way we set up against them was spot on. We pretty much went man for man and pressed them high, forcing them into mistakes. We also went a little more direct too, as they pressed us high from goal kicks, which was refreshing to see. They say styles make fights and I think we have Southamptons number. They were poor, other than a 10 minute spell second half, where they didn't even create a chance. The way they play, which is similar to us, allows opportunities on the counter, if the press is right. We were spot on and our quality really showed. I'm not getting carried away though. Preston away will be tough and we will likely revert back to the slow possession based football. Mainly down to the opposition. The fact we/Enzo was willing to concede possession last night and deviate from his "philosophy" offered a glimpse of positivity for next season if and when we are promoted.

He deserves full credit for today rather than sly digs. He was fantastic and a worthy MOTM.

Enzo Out? Time for an official thread/poll
leicesterlad1989 replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
I certainly don't think that but I do wonder how good some players would be in a different system. I think, despite the fact Mavididi in particular has been decent, a better manager could get more out of our wide players. We have fullbacks in Ricardo and Justin who love to bomb forward. Ndidi is a holding midfielder. Him alongside wins with KDH as an attacking midfielder (number 10). Give Cannon a run consistent run out. All just a pipe dreams sadly. -

But that's not what's happened though is it? This is reminiscent of us bottling top 4 (twice). Easy to spin things whatever way you like but it's simply not been good enough in the last 10 games. How can any fan be convinced he can turn this around given what he's actually spouted in the media about not deviating from his style of football. It's been a bizarre season all round where fans have been divided. Even when 17pts clear, people still moaned about how we played. A lot of those fans now feel their concerns have been justified. Yes, in reality it seems mental when you think we've pretty much been top all season but for the 85% who want him gone, it's not been good enough given the squad we've got. -
I firmly believe the best football I've seen at Leicester was during the early reign of Rodgers and that was due to a blend of the "old" (counter attacking) and the "new" (possession based). For a period of time we hit the right balance. Once he got his claws in it all turned to shit. Back to football under Enzo - I'm a firm believer there's a place for balance possession based football. There's also a time to be a little more urgent and direct, without being route one. The best managers find a blend and aren't stubborn. Enzo will not go any further in management unless he adjusts, whether that's with us or anywhere else.
-
He always seems to be playing a totally different game to everyone else and I don't mean that in a positive way. What's worse is the fact he seems nailed on to play every game. Poundland David Luiz.
-
I've tried this season to get on board with the "Enzo Way" but I hate it. I hate everything about the way we play. I hate the stubbornness of him. The system. The lack of chances we create for our strikers. The fact we try walk the ball in the net. Play the ball side to side. It bores me to tears. If this is football then this isn't for me. I obviously want us to win each week. I want us to go up. I'm struggling to watch this, even on a "good day."

It's shit. Simple as that. One tempo only. Boring. No urgency.
