Unfortunately the care sector is absolutely wrecked. Post Brexit, the European people that came to work in the sector obviously didn’t come anymore that meant we had to recruit from India, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Syria etc etc. because those people are willing to do horrible jobs at the minimum wage. What do you suggest? Illegal immigrants get deported if they get their asylum claims rejected. We also need immigration to keep the economy afloat because British people don’t do jobs that pay poorly en masse. Unless I’m mistaken I don’t believe there’s ever been a case of somebody arriving on a boat engaging in a serious act of violence/terrorism? Like people keep saying “something needs to be done” yet aside from the people that happily pronounce what they’d like to see happen (which would break the Geneva convention), nobody ever actually has a realistic solution that wouldn’t do more harm to the country than good. This is not a dig, I kinda get why people see immigrants as a threat because it’s classic herd mentality but nobody ever offers actual solutions apart from hatred.

Some people on the far right are so far gone that even when evidence is presented on the contrary, they just say it’s a cover up and we’re being lied to Le Tiissier style.

There’s the allegation online that the police are covering up who did it by saying he was originally from Cardiff, when the reality is that was where he was ‘settled’ a year ago. Not good.

Very true. I don’t think many people have truly grasped how utterly bleak the future is both in the short and long term. We have a basically flat line economy that is kept afloat by immigration (whether people like it or not). We have more and more people who are becoming anti immigration. We have birth rate decline, yet we have a social situation where white British birth rates will decline and non-white’s will continue to rise (to note I do not have a problem with this). This will lead to tension, riots, potentially even civil and sectarian violence. Then on the global scale, we have a war in Europe, the Middle East is on fire, the Americans are willing to destroy western economies to stick one over China. Western Europe is basically at war with Russia. We are geopolitically in a WWI situation where two ways to run countries are clashing and neither will back down. Except unlike WWI, we have nukes. Finally if we survive internal strife, if we somehow do not get annihilated in a nuclear firestorm, we have climate change to look forward to and all of the instability, death and destruction that will bring. I have relatives that have fallen down the Tommy Robinson slope very recently. At worst it always pro-Brexit but now the sentiment is a lot angrier.

The lawyer is an absolute grifter, a horrible misogynist that fortunately didn’t get into parliament but very nearly did. He has a massive TikTok following. If the family wanted to be taken seriously then they’d have gotten a proper lawyer, but I’d imagine it’s all part of the grift for Mr. Yakoob. The scariest part in all of this was however the rush of everyone to take a side. That only emboldens extreme views on both sides, and boosts cretins like Yakoob, Lee Anderson and Tommy Robinson.

I am sympathetic to what happened but you just can’t go acting on emotion like that. He could’ve flopped on him, deadweights on him, he could’ve kicked him in the shoulder, the criminal was already subdued by that point. Armed officers are specifically trained not to do that. I think it might give him some mitigation on a legal basis but he shouldn’t be working in the police again.

I don’t want my armed officers acting on emotion like that, it seems incredibly dangerous. And ultimately both parties are in the wrong, nobody has to pick a side.
