Because they legitimise the conversations that they have behind closed doors, and in a messed up way, it has more meaning when it’s an upper class bloke who does it.
I’ve seen enough of Austria in this tournament to know that we’d struggle against them in the last 16. They’re like Denmark last week but even more aggressive.
It’s good for the club I think. If we hadn’t won the cup last year then maybe I’d be more upset but having more representation shows the direction that the club is going in, even if the Hundred is rubbish.
I think Portugal aren’t being talked about enough atm. They struggled to win v Czechia but they still played well, and worked their way out of trouble unlike England or Belgium. Looked fantastic v Turkiye.
the Dutch also look cohesive which will pay off later on.
Something very funny and embarrassing about blaming the ref for a 50/50 penalty decision when the coach sets them up in such a pathetically negative way.
They’re utterly pathetic in these tournaments. Even Northern Ireland have gotten out of the groups more times than Scotland in major tournaments even though they’ve only ever played in 4.
It’s ironic that they’re all panicking when a player is KO’d, but a head injury short of that and the players carry on as if nothing had happened. Hello, early onset dementia.
That Fabian Schar chap for Switzerland has taken so many head knocks. Had one the other day and carried on as if nothing had happened. They need to introduce concussion subs where you can bring a player back on once a check has been done.
We’re pretty much through.
Windies v South Africa turns into a winner takes all which is horrible for South Africa who haven’t lost a game yet (compared to our two). The format is a bit dodgy in that aspect.
