Sectarianism innit.

yes I know, I don’t agree with it and I apologise if it came across like it was an endorsement. It certainly isn’t. More just the kind of thinking that will go through his head because he’ll just say that millions of Palestineans have been killed or displaced therefore free Palestine.

Belgium Sweden is currently been delayed because of a terrorist attack near the stadium. The perpetrator is apparently shooting anyone who he can see who is wearing Swedish colours (assume it's something to do with Qu'ran burning). Hopefully Wout and the rest of the players and fans get through safely.

it’s a bad look of course, the date especially, but you don’t know his background and his relationship with his religion. Jews feel threatened by Muslims and Muslims feel threatened by Jews on this issue, it’s hardly a surprise that a Muslim man would feel this way.

I would recommend watching this (he visits Gaza).

It’s done through the nations league to make it relevant.

The questions such as why did Palestinian’s elect Hamas, are so stupid. Why do Israeli’s keep electing far right ethno nationalists who have zero interest in peace?
-
Especially that they’re dying on a hill for an Israeli government which is despised by its own people.
-
It’s crazy that our government isn’t backing down with some of the rhetoric. Something will happen in the next week which will make the Israeli forces and government look even more dreadful and the government will end up saying they’ve gone too far.

My god Bumrah is a freak of a bowler. -
Biden spent the whole last two years cultivating a great foreign policy approach which basically bled Russia dry while avoiding escalation. He’s blown it all with this sorry affair. Just absolutely wild stuff, if he wasn’t a massive blood thirsty hypocrite you could argue Putin has a point.
-
Honestly how would you feel if somebody was firing rockets out of your neighbourhood? Hamas got powerful through essentially a coup d’etat in Palestinean territories. They majority of the population are utterly powerless.

India and New Zealand will run away with this, with England and South Africa finishing in the top 4 unless Australia can sort themselves out or Pakistan do something special. -
But Saudi and Qatar are friends again too? Anything is possible. These links generate stability, and I think that's what the Saudi's under the new crown prince want.
-
The best thing I think Israel could do is instead of laying siege, would be to double down on normalising relations with the Saudi’s. Short term it would be painful but that’s the fastest way to making a long term peace for the next generations. Sadly that would take level headedness which clearly does not exist in the Israeli ranks.

There was a bloke on LBC saying that behind closed doors they’re all saying this but in public they’re taking the aggressive stand. Kearns is correct and has been in her media appearances since it all began on Saturday with the savage attack.

It was DRS at the end of the day. It looked legside but he stepped so far across that it was clattering into leg. -

They’re getting absolutely battered. I love it. South Africa on the other hand are a low key dark horse. -
It was on last night's Newsnight.

During the ISIS terrorist campaigns in the west, the right were obsessed with criticising the left for 'virtue signalling' in response to events. Now, the right are frothing because organisations aren't engaging in virtue signalling. Not lighting up the Wembley arch in Israeli colours or the BBC not calling Hamas terrorists is not going to make any difference to anything.

Hope he gets well soon and it was something that was picked up early.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-12620821/invasion-Gaza-Israel-better-way-Colonel-TIM-COLLINS.html This seems sensible and rational but also terrifies me about what’s to come. The author is right, Israel may invade and occupy Gaza, then what? Face multiple attacks day after day when the local population blame them for their plight while radicalising millions of other Muslims in the area.

The UK left suffers from ‘Owen Jones syndrome’ aka I don’t care how many people suffer as long as I’m morally right.
-
I posted this on the now deceased thread but again I don’t think US and UK politicians have fully come to terms with how much Iraq has damaged the public’s trust in Middle Eastern foreign policy.

If Starmer gets through his housing reforms and they're effective, then they'll be more effective at reducing poverty than any other policy I could think of which doesn't involve wild, out of control spending. Honestly voting for the green party, is a vote for the tories in a FPTP system (unless you live in Brighton or Bristol), and their NIMBY and anti-infrastructure policies will only reinforce the social inequality which we're seeing now.
