  1. It’s not ww3. It’s a small scale regional conflict that flares up every decade or so, only on this occasion it’s flared up more than usual and the global media are treating it like the apocalypse.
  2. This whole moral, ‘you have to denounce or take a side’ thing is utterly exhausting. Of course not as much as the suffering experience on both sides but one only has enough mental energy to watch things like this.
  3. Fiji have been rubbish in their last two games. I’m not sure what’s gone wrong but they’d need to be 100x better next week even against England. They’re really missing the fly half who got injured before the tournament. England have had the jammiest draw I’ve ever known. A half decent performance against a cold Argentina has seen them with one foot in a semi. @Finnegan I owe you an apology for earlier in the thread. I thought wales were done for but Gats has done it again. Love seeing Tommy Reffell get man of the match yesterday. Argentina will be a tough test as they looked very good in parts yesterday.
  4. It would be wild if a team that were closer to relegation points wise, than top spot, got promoted.
  5. Christ what a prat
  6. How is Hamilton blaming Russell for that?
  7. Imagine Enzo v Rooney. Eustace will have a better managerial career than Rooney, it’s a silly decision.
  8. Burnley’s fixture list has been brutal although yesterday was a disappointing loss. I still think they’ll stay up at the expense of Bournemouth.
  9. They did that from the start of the season and we struggled to break them down. The past two games are evidence that we’ve clearly improved already at breaking down those teams. Stoke are the first example and won’t be the last team who were beaten before they even stepped off the bus.
  10. I just don’t buy this. Yes this group of promoted teams are poor but the season before all 3 stayed up fairly comfortably. We have money, structure, PL quality and now an identity again. No reason why we would struggle.
  11. It was interesting how many people had written both of these off in the first few games. Now they’re being managed well and they both look confident, happy and ELECTRIC.
  12. Will it even be a conflict or will Israel just destroy and occupy Gaza? We’ve literally just seen ethnic cleansing against Armenians and everybody turned a blind eye. Now Israel will do the same, which will radicalise a whole new group of Palestians which will keep Hamas going. Just idiots everywhere.
  13. Off the top of my head, at least two of those didn’t go up. So don’t get complacent.
  14. Shows how many games we’d have to mess up to be in any trouble.
  15. I can’t help but be chuffed for Ipswich. I hope that they can stick with us (but not too close).
  16. I would say between 2015 and 2019 I was very much a Corbyn supporter, and I don’t regret it, but seeing some of the leftist takes in some circles today have been astounding. Calling Bernie Sanders out for condemning Hamas, and the worst, calling out Zelenskyy (you know, an actual Jew) who has sympathised with Israeli’s. And then people deny that Labour had an anti-Semite problem. Anyway, there are much more important things than Labour factionalism but today has really made me reflect on some of insane takes which I was a part of.
  17. In Enzo we trust.
  18. Would be a lovely day for us and Ipswich to win based on this result.
  19. Stay grounded, support the team, stay patient and swat aside whoever comes before us methodologically through the science of Enzo ball.
  20. Oddly enough, the Saudi’s although I’m sure what they’re doing is to their own vested interests.
  21. Bangladesh destroyed Afghanistans middle and lower order this morning. South Africa are my dark horse for the competition so watch them get 100 all out.
  22. Hamas leadership are idiots. Israeli government are idiots, was only gonna end one way. One online theory is that this is an Iranian plot to disrupt the geopolitical alignment of Israel and Saudi.
  23. This is harsh, I hope to god that your work performance never drops due to your mental health. Youri downed tools but this is unfair.
  24. Yes I think it's more that Labour will take the unionist vote, and that more SNP supporters can stomach voting for Labour than Conservatives given that they sit in a similar position on a lot of social and economic issues, the big one aside. If Labour win the next election and play devolution well, then there's no reason why they can't become the largest party in Scotland. However, the SNP are 100% not finished in Scotland, it's the Tories that are finished there for the foreseeable future.
  25. I could give or take Ashworth but I did enjoy this emotional defence of the city given that we were humiliated on an international stage for no reason. https://x.com/bbcquestiontime/status/1710057470142423083?s=20
