Burton Albion (h) post-match 1-2 defeat
westernpark replied to MC Prussian's topic in Leicester City Forum
Really liked their number 8. I thought Alves did well, always enjoy watching Braybrooke too. New striker has bit about him but we have one striker at the club so it’s win or bust on him. We don’t go up with Martin and I think he lasts no more than 6 weeks. -
Another AI pub.
-
That’s really good to hear. I didn’t think the same being on Millstone Lane then heading to the cultural quarter.
-
Went to two tailed lion after game where staff are always superb. Unfortunately getting anything on keg there is difficult at the moment. Pubs were generally a lot quieter than other match days. Had a curry on London Road and it was so busy, mainly full of Muslim families enjoying themselves. The city’s demographic means pubs will not last here.
-
So I have two season tickets in my wallet showing the Burton game. Is the one that says 25/26 obsolete? It would make sense tha would be the case but I don’t trust the club.
-
I didn’t mind Enzo(I didn’t necessarily enjoy his football) but it’ll be great seeing another nail in the coffin for the least pragmatic and exciting style of football and fundamentally more misery for Man City as a club.

He’s a real statement signing. -
Fran Vieites leaves - mutual agreement to terminate contract

Gutting. -
I hate him. Should have been a shining light of what Leicester is about. Maddening to hear how ‘proud’ his family are of him on the odd clip I see of the documentary that the club made. The club deserves a lot of criticism over its decision to give him a new contract after he put lives at risk by drink driving.
-
I could get behind this if a one year deal for a loan but it won’t be a sensible transfer as the only reason he’ll be coming here is for the length and size of the contract. Any trajectory that he had with Ipswich has also completely dropped off since his mega injuries. Pointless.

Leicester City For Sale (Ongoing Thread)
westernpark replied to AKCJ's topic in Leicester City Forum
From what I understand, the sale of club would involve the academy/club etc but not the actual physically training ground- it would be leased. I am jealous of Derby’s position and so should you be. -
This is why I left untappd. Probs gone down to about 20 units a week- all consumed at a weekend. I will probably push further in the new year. But I can go 6/7 days without any alcohol, so I’m quite happy! It’s the weekend pub crawl/ sporting outing that gets me.

Gone but not forgotten and certainly not the death list

What if it’s the body of an RSPB neofundamentalist -
Should have guessed.

Have they given a reason why?

Leicester City For Sale (Ongoing Thread)
westernpark replied to AKCJ's topic in Leicester City Forum
Nonsense comment. It’s not going to be their government, so why does it matter where the person is from. -
You could cut the club a bit of slack and think it’s first game of season, maybe the home club aren’t organised etc. But our ticketing operation has been crap for years, that this is probably indicative of what will happen for rest of the season. Could have waited till Friday before putting on sale, for a few days notice. Arguably, tickets are more likely to get resold how the club don’t want, with ticketing sales like this. Because people will buy and just pass on if can’t go. Now I have ten minutes to decide whether I want a ticket, because I’ve been completely blindsided by the email that I opened this morning.

Danny Ings (signing 1 year deal, John Percy.)
westernpark replied to moore_94's topic in Transfer Talk
This has Hasselbank and Allen written all over it. Albeit the complete opposite. -
That’s hideous.
-
I was going to buy this, my first shirt since before Covid. But the gold reminds me of King Power and the tacky entourage that they’ve always brought to the club’s shirts, other stuff and stadium, so I’m out.
-
I think he’s good enough. There’s been reported interest from those clubs. I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to one of those clubs this Summer but perhaps he has targeted first team football for a season or two first.
-
He’s a Rolls Royce of a footballer. He will play for England.
-
He has the highest ceiling out of any of our academy graduates in the last 5 years, maybe even 10 years. He will go to Torino for a maximum of two seasons and then will be back in the premier league for at least 40 million. Whilst we will see under 5 million for him.
-
I think its had a mixed history but certainly been a better pub before than the current strange hybrid of restaurant/pub that got so confused it started to identify as Italian. But you’re definitely right that all pubs will struggle in these existing times.
-
Knight and Garter closing. Hopefully it reverts back to being a good pub rather than an expensive restaurant hybrid.
