Unfortunately for us, this isn’t just a Ruud issue. It’s indicative of what’s gone on at the club for years and it’s no coincidence that overpaid players given absurd amounts of leeway are getting relegated for the second time in three years.

Everyone is putting way too much emphasis on our senior staff. Our DoF and CEO are King Power, this setup is by design. Top makes the decisions, not them.

How about some educated guesswork of your own? Everyone with any inside knowledge has said the same thing. And there are glaringly obvious signs to support this wherever you look at the club.

We’re gonna need a bigger plane

I know I’m going on like a broken record but it’s ridiculous for us to keep separating our directors from Top. Our directors were put in place to rubber stamp King Power’s decisions and represent King Power. Does anyone really think Rudkin is there to truly advise Top and possibly challenge his decisions? He’s there to do what Top tells him and run his errands. He’s not involved with King Power Racing because he’s some sort of savant with ponies.

Rudkin is King Power. That’s why he’s involved in King Power Racing and OHL.

Yeah, you’ve probably nailed it there. I can only hope that at some point more people start to question why we have that kind of setup.

It’s incredible how so many people think that if Top just changes Rudkin out, we’ll be OK. People don’t question why Rudkin is in that position in the first place and why he was put in charge of OHL and King Power Racing. It’s not because he’s the world’s greatest football man or director. It’s because he works for King Power and does King Power’s bidding.

At some point, maybe our fans will see that our directors are KP , whether or not the titles say so. It’s not either Rudkin or King Power, Rudkin represents King Power.

That’s a great fantasy but at our club, our DoF is only the conduit for Top’s decisions. Everyone saying we just need Top to bring in better people at the club is also asking for the owner to give up a certain level of control that he does not appear to be willing to cede.

They are the people running things, that’s the problem, unfortunately.

Yep. Everyone at the club has gave up on this season weeks ago. If sanctions are levied on Man City, maybe King Power tossing that life jacket back into the sea will be the moment when our supporter base achieves the collective consciousness that forces change at the club.

Look at how bad the transfer window was after we won the league and how poorly we managed that success. It’s been even worse on the commercial side. That Premier League title win was the best story in all sports and we did so little to take advantage of it. Our only major commercial partnerships have been with dodgy companies and other entities that have done nothing to raise the profile of the club. Even when we were largely getting things right on the footballing side of the club, we completely blew any chance to add stability on the commercial side. And now both sides of the club are a mess at the same time.

Top still makes the major decisions, not his staff.

Also, most of our players are too soft and need a disciplinarian.

You’re giving our squad way too much credit. We’re not good enough to outplay and outpass anyone. We can’t pass, we can’t run, and, without Fatawu, we don’t have anyone who can beat a man on the dribble. Nobody is going to get progressive tactics out of this lot, the players just aren’t at that level for this league. Hoofball might be the only way we can even sniff a result.

That’s a wild lineup, would be surprised if we complete 70% of our passes today. Not really bothered about Buonanotte not starting, he hasn’t been special for us. Hoping this lineup and tactics are just so crazy that they somehow work.

Yeah, I have to agree with this. Was hoping both of those players could get us the goals we need to survive but they haven’t shown enough, and this side just isn’t good enough. I don’t know who in their right mind could build a squad like this (no pace, no ability to beat a man on the dribble, defenders allergic to staying in position, midfielders who can’t pass) and be satisfied thinking this group might have what it takes to survive.

Beyond bizarre to fixate on Kristiansen with all of the much more alarming problems around him and around the club.

He’s young. Look at the awful defenders that he’s had to develop around. And he looked like Robert Huth in the tackle compared to Soumare.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy did that all himself and not the people who put us in this position and brought him on?
