Beraldo went to PSG, that’s like when a scout at Sunderland had Zlatan on his list of targets when they were in League One. It doesn’t appear that we’ve made progress expanding our scouting to South America.

Best ever shirt. I have it in long sleeves but will never fit into it again. Sending it and a bunch of old shirts to a friend’s son, that shirt deserves to be worn!

Did Maresca actually say that in response to what attributes he’s looking for? It sounded to me like he only spoke about Sensi when asked directly about the player but did not say anything confirming the player was a definitely target, as is being reported. But maybe I missed that exchange.

It’s got something to do with The Kop and The Family Stand, I think.

A small contingent from NYC will also be over for that game -

Enzo definitely deserves the benefit of the doubt with his early track record on transfers and how he’s handled players with a lengthy injury history. It’s also good that we’re not bringing in Sensi to an urgent situation where we’re completely reliant on him, we’ll be able to get him up to speed.

I want to see the Cov away end full of Italian flags.

Stefano Sensi isn’t really a defensive midfielder, he likes to drive and pass the ball forward. Definitely an interesting one and we’ll see if Enzo has other ideas for him but I would think he’s being brought in if Praet and Soumare are in fact being sold so we can slot in a more natural player than Yunus into an advanced midfield role. Also adds some experience, which will be useful if we’re looking to see this season through.

BOOM BOOM BOOM! LET ME HEAR YOU SAY WAYNA— MARÇAL! 😜

He’s also said he likes Yunus, he clearly doesn’t think the full international is just a shit player. But, anyway, you and I have talked about Yunus enough for two lifetimes and this is taking away from your (justified) time to gloat about Casadei so let’s leave this one where it is.
-
I think this is a pretty reasonable take that most fans should be on board with. Not our best player, not our worst. Good enough to slot in for games like yesterday’s at the moment, let’s see what the rest of the season brings.
-
And Yunus has barely played in his.
-
Fine. Let’s play Mavididi in that position and expect him to be our best player.
-
It’s hard to expect anything more from a winger who’s changed countries and is having to play as a number 8 on the side of his weak foot. Still, two “pre-assists” yesterday.

Keith Vaz sitting in the VIP seats; Mark Morrison on the Filbert Street pitch; DAD 50 vs. the Napoli ultras; Leo Ulloa hugging Filbert Fox

The Birch doing one of his charity runs; Knockaert in the horse mask; Mahrez skipping over a Man City defender; Fuchs flicking Shinji’s ear; Shinji’s bicycle kick; Muzzy’s bicycle kick; Huth putting a free kick out for a throw; Schlupp blasting one into the last row; Wasyl punching any number of players; Ian Marshall posing with a paella; MON leaping in the air; Fans holding up “DON’T GO MARTIN” signs; The fan who poked her head through the tifo 😂

That was probably a play on words since he was victorious at that moment. SK1 should just go all in with banners saying “Go On, Harold!” for Winks and maybe “King James” for Vardy.

Sure he is, he’s a right-winger, where he’s played his whole career until now, his first time in England. Is it really the classic double standard? Re: my post, I made absolutely no mention or even implication of either player’s perceived work rate and used very different criteria to talk about the player in good faith. Nobody's saying that Yunus is a nailed-on world beater just that let’s maybe give him a few more appearances before we say he sucks.
-
This is harsh and very unfair. Yunus is a right-winger, he’s not a natural number 8 and is learning a new position while Casadei has played nearly all of his career in the middle of the pitch. Enzo has shown himself to be much more cautious with injuries than Rodgers and there’s absolutely no need for any side with our lead to bring back players early. Let’s not forget that, like Fatawu’s loan, it was widely reported that there was an appearance-related clause in Yunus’s loan deal. It wouldn’t surprise me if the club has always planned to sign only one of those two left-footed and right-sided players on a permanent deal. Since Fatawu has been nothing short of a revelation, he’s deservingly picked up the bulk of all available minutes and our club’s attention up to now, making it tough to provide a good faith assessment on Yunus.

It’s just a cool photo, not very bizarre to post.

Fatawu’s goal showed he had a helluva left foot and a few tricks in his bag. Not seeing anything from this guy and his stats are far from impressive.
