  1. I rarely bet on stuff but would be curious to see what the odds were. Can anybody with an account somewhere find out?
  2. What odds do you think I'd get now with a speculative punt on Barnes getting a future full England cap? I reckon it might be worth sticking a silly tenner on that.
  3. Didn't see it coming but to be sacked by the same owners at two different clubs has gotta be a first surely?
  4. Just to add to my list.... In the last 8 days...... Olivia Colman - Really nice. Richard E Grant - Would be OK if it wasn't for his wife. Sting - Charming but you have to get him on a good day for him to be so.
  5. My New Years `resolution is not to make New Years resolutions.
  6. Ditto. Cheers
  7. Apparently Vardy travelled with the squad so he's at Craven Cottage. Could have been a late decision?
  8. Try Norwegian Airlines. A long haul low cost carrier and are supposedly really good. Never used em myself but hear good things about them.
  9. One of the nicest, most likeable blokes you could wish to meet. Absolutely deserved that goal, had to go through a lot if I remember right. Wasn't his wife's mum shot and killed in that terrorist attack on the beach? Would've loved to see him in an England shirt. As good as he is now, he was outstanding for us a couple of years ago.
  10. My Bold I did see someone get medical aid and stretchered out of what I think was the Burnley stand. Was that connected? I hope not!
  11. Was that the lad (Or the one close by that did it) they arrested and escorted down and out halfway thro the 2nd half?
  12. Yeah, shook a lot of hands yesterday after the game as they were getting on their busses. Would share a pint with them any day.
  13. Yeah, Burnley fans just got the program under their seats, not the scarf, badge etc.
  14. Nice to see one of the Burnley players run over especially to give his shirt to that severely disabled lad in the wheelchair. You could see the excitement as he was leaving. Not sure what the stewards close by did for him but there were big handshakes all round between him, his carer and them.
  15. I can see some money grabbers doing this but it did enter my head to do the same. I went with my son so we have 2 lots. One lot is a treasured possession, especially the stunning program, and the other I thought of ebaying and whatever I got for them I would donate to one of Vichai's charities, probably the children's hospital. Do others think that this would be acceptable? One of the sellers has been getting hate mail which I could do without.
  16. Jeez, An absolute emotionally draining day and for once it wasn't the football. Ain't ashamed to say I, along with other blokes around me, shed tears at the tribute and when "Time to say goodbye" came on. Listened to the radio on way home and I'm sure I heard them say the organisers and services reckon there were 50,000 of us on the walk. So damn proud of this club. Sue Whelan, Take a bow.
  17. My journey to the walk/game starts in 30 mins I leave my hotel in Singapore for the 13+ hour flight home. (Working) Land into LHR at 05.15 Pick up car Pick up Ian Stringer at 0630ish as he lands from BKK Drive him straight to the RL offices Drive home Unpack/shower/change Pick up son from childcare Drive back into town Join the march Go to game Pick up car Go home Sleeeeeeeep. Wouldn't miss this for anything.
  18. I had an idea when I saw the Arsenal armbands so I fired this off to the club........ Dear Arsenal FC, Firstly, could I thank you so much for the respect your club and staff showed towards my club, Leicester City, on Saturday after the horrific accident suffered by our chairman and others recently. We have had many many fans from your club conveying their support and condolences thro various social media, for which we are extremely humbled and thankful. I am writing to enquire if it were possible to obtain one or two of the LCFC foxed armbands your players and staff wore as a mark of condolence in your game against Liverpool yesterday? On Saturday 10th November we have our first home game since the tragic accident and loss of Kun Vichai and there is an organised walk to the KP stadium from Leicester City Centre before the game of which over 15000 fans have pledged to attend and I and my 9 year old son would be very proud to wear the armbands with the foxes badge on if you were able to supply. If you are able to forward one or two (Or maybe you’d like to donate all of them to us to be distributed amongst us?) I/we would be honoured and eternally grateful. If the above request is just not possible I/we understand and please be assured that there is no commercial interest in obtaining these armbands, we are lifelong true LCFC fans with an idea of maybe wearing those unique black armbands on Saturday as we walk in remembrance to our game. If the above is possible my home address is below for postage, the cost of which I am willing to cover. Many thanks for your time. Yours Sincerely This afternoon I received this reply.......... Dear Ed Thank you for your email and your kind words. The Club felt this was the best way to show our empathy towards Leicester City Football Club and the tragedy which occurred last Saturday. Unfortunately in regards to the arm bands our players wore, we are unable to release these as our first-team players have chosen to keep these as a sign of respect and remembrance of what happened. My apologies for the negative response on this occasion, and our thoughts continue to be with Leicester City Football Club at this time. Kind regards, Dylan. Fair enough, had a thought that they would now be surplus to requirements and some of us would have appreciated and be proud to wear them on Saturday but sadly it's not to be but it's a lovely response. So be it.
  19. That was a great piece by Sky. Tears are falling yet again.
  20. I've just watched the video on Sky Sports website with him singing it in the background with recent pictures being shown. It got me more than anything so far so if it were to happen live I'm not sure I could handle it but it would be something unforgettably special if LCFC could arrange this.
  21. Done. "Not That Long Ago In A Car Park In Leicester We Found A King. This Week, Again In A Car Park In Leicester, We Lost One RIP Vichai. You Gave Us So Much And We Owe You Everything Thank You And God Bless You"
  22. I really hope Cardiff players/staff mute their celebrations should they score as surely they can take no pleasure in scoring against a "broken" team. I flew in from Boston Massachusetts this morning, drove up to the KP to pay my respects. I'm now back in my London hotel feeling very humble and subdued with an eerie sense of calm and reflection. I have to fly back in the morning but a huge part of me wants to, (and probably will) and feel I should, come back and drive to Cardiff on Saturday, even without a ticket for the game, just to be amongst those who are like-minded suffering souls like me. Is anyone else considering going to Cardiff without a ticket to pay respects?
  23. I'd also like to see the graffiti artist do his magic somewhere close by. His detailing was incredible with Ranieri and I'm sure a memorial one of Vichai would be something to consider but, I agree, a statue would be very poignant. I'm in Boston Massachusetts right now but am going to fly back tomorrow night and drive up when I land on Tuesday morning to lay some flowers but I need to head back here on Wed morning. I just feel I need to show my respects, love and thanks to a truly humble, respectable, kind, generous human being who gave me days and dreams I never thought I'd ever see. Genuinely gutted on this sad sad day.
  24. Spent time with Kate Moss (3rd time we've met and she remembered me) and Emma Thompson in New York last week. Both really nice, especially Emma. although Kate was a bit hyper
