Community Shield - August 7th 5pm - Wembley
ElusiveEd replied to Ashley's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just a quick bit of help here. I'm a Fox member and since the Euro's my 12 year old son has become a football lover and wants to go to this game. I've made him a Junior Fox member and conjoined our rmembership/relationship on the members pages. Can I quickly ask is it very straightforward to purchase mine and his ticket just on one transaction to be able to sit together? Cheers -
Wolves at KP - Saturday 14 August
ElusiveEd replied to phoneticerror's topic in Ticket News and Travel
I know it's early days and they are going to be like rocking horse sh*t to get hold of but I'm really hoping to get hold of 2 adult tickets, seated together for this one. My GF is a New Yorker, we ain't seen each other for 18 months for obvious reasons, but she is heading over here on the 12th for 5 days (restrictions permitting) so I'm desperately hoping to take her to this, her first game as she is a huge follower of us over there and, being a teacher, has all her pupils supporting us too. If anyone already knows they can't make it and may have what we need, would you please consider letting us use them? (Obviously subject to any Covid entry restrictions the club may well still use/require) Will obviously be willing to pay. Cheers in anticipation. -
Posted within a minute or so. Maybe I read it all wrong.

Would you want a player like Diego Costa at Leicester?
ElusiveEd replied to Captain...'s topic in Transfer Talk
The kind of player you hate when he plays for a team against you but adore when he plays for you. Yes please! -
I parked up roadside in a 4x4 I owned many years ago to respond to a text I'd received only to have a police car immediately pull up at the side of me. Obviously I was higher up so looked down at the PC in the passenger seat of the car. He wound his window down so I did the same. He asked if I was OK and I replied I was and had just pulled over to reply to a text to my partner I had just had a row with before storming out of her house. He asked if I had been drinking that night to which I looked around my cars empty interior and seats and said "Why, is there a fat girl in my car? Because I was sat higher I couldn't see the driver of the police car who's door opened and out stepped a, let's say very bonny police woman. OFFS I thought and she wasn't amused. I got breathalysed and failed, was arrested taken to the station where they were processing a fairly violent woman so was taken to a holding room for a few mins where the male PC who had questioned told me he was dying to laugh at my answer but "As you can see she isn't the smallest of women is she" I blew into the machine at the station and passed and was released much to her annoyance.

I posted this in November 2019 as noticed JM's corners were shit.......... "Has anything ever come from a Maddison corner? I stand to be corrected but I can't remember us scoring from one but that's a different thread on it's own" Nothing has changed and his set pieces are utterly woeful. Well past time for a change.

Sometimes I see him trying a little bit too hard to impress. Having said that there is definitely something there that excites me and a helluva lot more to come from him. He needs to adapt a lot more to our style of patient play. Tends to telegraph what he's going to do and that is to get a shot in at every opportunity when the MO usually seems to be a very patient passing build up . He seems to be the one who always wants to pull the trigger, even at half chances when a more clinical pass is the better option. I'd say buy him up and let BR do his magic and develop his talents into something very special.

Just as an aside, I have noticed JV's groin and hip niggles flare up when he strikes the ball with heavy force (Wasn't it last year or maybe 2019 he uncharacteristically hoofed the ball high, grabbed his groin area, went down and subsequently had to leave the pitch and was out for weeks?) He also passes the ball a lot more in the box rather than strikes it when he's always been a poacher and predator towards the goal. He's missed a few recently too which usually would be a dead cert goal and doesn't seem his usual ultra sharp self. Has me thinking the impact of striking the ball hard is what is causing the issues he has so maybe he's refraining when he can. Think I heard somewhere Saturday was the first time he'd had 7 attempts at goal and not scored at least once. Rock and a hard place for him and Brendan I guess. Play him and risk further injury or don't play him and risk points? For me Nacho is not an adequate replacement for JV so, unless they are already, now is the time to search for someone who is and will be the next and future JV.

My feeling is we are starting to see and benefit from the days Vardy gave up International football for. Hope he plays but the plan surely must be to extend his game time long term and manage the injuries and niggles he's starting to pick up with that in mind. Risking exacerbating his injuries for single games is a no no for me as I think things are starting to take their toll on him and his body. The way he left the pitch on Saturday doesn't bode well for Tuesday.

I saw her too. I've never seen anything so perfect. The looks, body, eyes, hair, smile, voice, intelligence, class, caring career. She had it all......... Including a fu*king boyfriend.

Can anyone confirm if the PS5 is dual voltage? I'm pretty sure it might be as the PS4 was apparently. My GF is a New Yorker and still lives there, I've told her the issues regarding getting one before Xmas for my son and the cost of em on eBay etc, which I'm loathed to pay and she wants to buy him one and send it over. Cheers.

For no other reason than I can't stop laughing at this I'm posting it here.......

Genuinely GUTTED! Ive been flying for BA for 28 years and we are all seriously devastated the big bird is being retired. She has been a dream to be on, her safety record is pretty much second to none and she has safely delivered us time and time again back to our families. Every single one of us that has ever had the privilege of working on these aircraft, wether we are pilots, cabin crew, engineers, caterers or cleaners have a huge affinity with our own 747s, it doesn't seem plausible that we won't be seeing our BA liveried 747 400s around the globe again. BA 747's have been such an iconic sight since the 70's age of glamorous travel. It had been on the cards and rumoured for a few years they would ground the fleet but she hung around and graced the skies well past what was expected of her. They are dated and it shows. BA put no real effort into maintaining the airframes, it was all very much "make do" when it came to their appearance and technical issues but they kept going and were simply stunning to fly, each with their own characteristics, issues and not to mention weaknesses in the airframes and fuselage. Thank God for aviation grade 3M gaffer tape and incredibly dedicated 747 engineers who seemed to know every inch of every 747 we owned. Despite their sheer size they are the most elegant of commercial flying machines ever designed. My particular soft spot was for G-BNLL, Lima Lima as she was known or "The City Of Leicester" when we used to have names on the fuselage, along with past iconic BA liveries. Obviously for the Leicester link she was "my" aircraft" but also because of the special memories of the sex I had in the crew rest area with one of my cabin crew hostie colleagues en route back from Kuala Lumpur many years back. Unfortunately Lima Lima was broken in Jo'burg when one of my flight deck colleagues put the wing tip thro an airfield perimeter building so she was retired early and scrapped. It's been a pleasure and an honour to be a part of their history. My post is sounding a little nostalgic and heartfelt because my last operational flight now appears to have been to New York JFK back in Feb due to Covid-19, lockdown, and industrial unrest and uncertainty within the company, etc so it's with a really heavy heart I'm hanging up my wings too after 28 years on that magnificent Queen Of The Skies. Sad Sad day.

I'm back in Manhattan NYC and it's like a ghost town. it's Saturday night and the it's eerily quiet. There has been the same panic buying and stripping of shelves here too but the bars and restaurants that are usually heaving are empty. Never known anything like this. It's weird.
