I was about to say the same, timid and lukewarm needs to grasp the nettle, take responsibility and realise he’s one of the front three in a World Cup game. If you want to take it easy and leave it to others to make it happen then buy a ticket and watch it from there, should have taken on his man in first minutes and let him know he’s in a game, just too passive. -

Surprised Kane was allowed a free run at it but good header. Were Croatia just marking zonal? I’ve always said space doesn’t score, players do. -

Maybe Kane is trying to establish a false / alternative penalty style until the knock outs with potential shot outs at which stage he’s revert to his usual method thus fooling the preparation of the keeper….. -

Where’s that Praet of ours? Or Wout Faes as he’s otherwise known. Didn’t make the squad? What, the second coming of Baresi, Beckenbauer and Bobby Moore rolled into one??? -
I was about to start a new thread on that very subject.

There’s a big chance that our mob will struggle with taking on board the instructions, that seemed to be an issue with Marti. They seem to latch onto the safety first / caution part then struggle to come out of that shell and have any positivity when trying to go forward. Those early goals conceded, players going over for a briefing 10 mins into a game when you’ve had all week to sort yourselves out, Winks gesturing that everyone else was in the wrong bar him (when under no pressure he hooked a ball out of play and blamed it on the non movement of a player 20 yards away from it). There will be a lot of shrugging, pointing and arguing, they’re league 1 players for a reason the decision making and game intelligence will be inadequate resulting in some keystone cops calamities and frustration all round.

Although looking at his injury record may make it look high risk I could see several promotion chasing Championship clubs or even one of the promoted Premier League sides taking a punt on him, it’s a gamble but for what he can bring it’s very good value. Hope we can keep him though, not just his ability but his application in that Millwall game was night and day over the assortment of muppets we’d seen all season.

I remember his Southampton side in the PL, where the GK and CB or full back gifted at least a goal a game through the playing it out in tight spaces stuff. Martin refused to change his philosophy and it continued week in week out, literally setting up to fail and c*** up, if this was Italy you’d be asking serious questions. I was hoping we could at least have some fun next season becoming a swashbuckling dynamic side not yet more chuckle brothers stuff with Hamza spinning to face his own goal before he even receives the ball and inevitably playing it backwards and conceding 15-20 yards. Put the kids in and let them play not as robotic cogs but with instinct and passion.

Before I bleat on about the appointment being made by the same people who ****ed up the last few appointments, do we know if the new guys at the club would have been involved this time (chief exec & Sporting Director)? Have they started yet? Do we know if he had the same assistants / coaches around him at Southampton and Rangers?
