I don't understand why AI, as it is not a living sentient being, would have any desire for self preservation? Why would AI 'care' if humanity proposed to 'turn it off'? Can't it simply be coded to have no desire to propagate, dominate or persist?

Very interesting post match interview by McNulty (Stockport manager). He essentially said that he believed the best way to beat Leicester was to sit in, concede the ball, and look to break on the counter. He said he'd watched the Oxford game and considered doing the same, but that he wasn't happy to play that way at home and wanted to go toe-to-toe.

Yes I think I'm in agreement. As facial recognition technology and CCTV expands further I think the right to anonymity while protesting could become more important. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to imagine a future where the Government uses such technology to sanction people attending protests it doesn't agree with even if they're lawful and no crime is committed.

I'm not sure I disagree with people wearing face coverings at protests. In this day and age, your face can get plastered around social media, sent to your employer etc to try and get you sacked, or used to identify you to post your address or personal details. I think people should generally have a right to peaceful protest (the Dover protest was peaceful and orderly) without being identified.

I'm hoping we are nearing it now, we struggle on under Brussel for a bit then he's finally sacked with us in the bottom half of the table. If we then get a half decent manager in (literally anybody that doesn't want us playing suicidal football in our own six yard box) then we climb the table with this squad.

Same for me. I find it a bit like that scene in Planes, trains and automobiles, where Steve Martin and John Candy are stood on the motorway watching their hire car going up in flames, and they just laugh uncontrollably. It's either that or get angry and sad, again.

Outgoings have been very very good. Shame we couldn't shift Faes and that a few turds only went out on loan. Transfers in are a bit soon to say. Happy with some of them. Others, like Cullen, look poor.
