Probably the best away end (From a British team) I've ever seen at the KP. Constant noise, even when losing, and mental scenes when they scored. Fair play. Hope they have a good season.

Mads Hermansen sold to West Ham - Official
DennisNedry replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
It remains to be seen how good Mads actually is now. Judged on the second half of last season, he was actually mediocre. The injury derailed his form. If he can get back to his best then it's a snip at £15m. I don't think he's ever going to be an elite keeper though. -
Just finished BoJack Horseman. Very late to the party I know, but what a great show.

15 minute drive to my Dad's. 30 minute drive from there to Freeman's Common. 5 minute walk to the ground.

They can. But scale aside, the issue of the boat people is much more tangible and visceral, hence it's not unreasonable for people to view it as more pressing. If you're a parent of a 12 year old girl in Nuneaton, for example.

20k above asking price! Our experience from the last 6 months trying to buy and sell is that very few properties are selling at asking price, let alone above. Sounds like you made the right call walking away.
-
We were told this on the house we have just bought (STC). The Estate Agent told us the vendors had had an offer of asking price from an unproceedable buyer (basically they hadn't sold theirs). Because the vendors were in your position (i.e. had a house they really wanted to buy so we're keen to sell quick smart), they accepted our offer of £5k less, just to get it done.

Can't both things be big issues?
-
I'd have to say no. Unless we could have him here on a "pay as you play" rolling contract, on much less money than he was on before. But then that almost feels insulting to our best ever. I think it's best for us both if we both move on.

James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)
DennisNedry replied to SouthStandUpperTier's topic in Transfer Talk
Been said multiple times, but JJ was genuinely one the best fullbacks in the PL once upon a time. The first injury absolutely ruined him. Absolute liability defensively multiple times last season and the season before. Didn't look brilliant in the Championship winning season. Hardly ever gets forward anymore either. The assist for Vardy's 200th was a strange harking back to when he actually had something to offer going forward. If Leeds or Everton sign him, they'll both quickly regret it. -
People saying "often times".

I think the resident doctors are simply asking for too much. Of course, the late 2000s is used as the benchmark because this is when their pay was at its highest. They've picked the peak year from which to make comparisons. What they either fail to acknowledge or just don't care about, is that the entirety of the public sector has faced similar real terms pay erosion since that time. Police, teachers, nurses civil servants, councils, everybody. Resident doctors had by far the best pay increase last year and the highest offer this year. I just think they're being disingenuous. A teaching assistant will have had similar poor pay increases since 2010, but they have a very low pay ceiling. Doctors however may start on relatively poor wages but within a few years they are very very well remunerated. This is of course on merit due to the importance and difficulty of their roles, not to mention the amount of studying required, but the narrative they are portraying just doesn't sit well with me. I (public sector myself) have been offered 3.2% this year which is below inflation and the private sector average. In the past decade or so I've seen the National Living Wage get ever closer to my hourly rate and frankly it's depressing. I would happily sacrifice a % of employer pension contributions for a higher upfront wage, by the way! I hope Labour stand firm on this.

HMP Gallowfield. It's the road it's next to. Also I'm sure money would be better spent with a load of gallows in the field rather than building this new prison 😂

That bodycam footage of the bloodied police officer crying after having been battered by those thugs at Manchester airport is sad. And tbh it just infuriates me how quickly certain people came out attacking the Police after the event without knowing the facts. That bloke is lucky a kick to the head is all he got. Perhaps this belongs in the "absolute cvnts of our time" thread.

Cool. -
To any inexperienced investors reading the thread, it's probably worth mentioning some basics i.e. only invest what you are prepared to lose, always have a balanced portfolio (don't pump all your savings on EEE!), it's better to invest gradually and regularly rather than whacking big lump sums in, etc.

It's totally different being on holiday in the heat though and having to do the daily grind in it at home. On holiday too you always have that respite of your hotel room, or jumping in the pool.

I won't sugar coat it, they are noisy. I kind of find it like white noise though. I can't sleep with the TV on but I can with the air con. You could also turn it off when you're going to sleep, we find doing that though we wake up a few hours later sweating our tits off.

I'd say it's almost the majority of family and friends now that have a £300 or so portable AC unit. Ours stays in our bedroom and we put it on a couple of hours before we go to bed then leave it on overnight. Electric bills go up but for me it's priceless being able to sleep well at night. I'd love an integrated system for the whole house. To be honest if I got a windfall (inheritance, tax free lump sum from pension etc) in the future it's probably something I'd do.

Thank Christ for air conditioning, that's all I can say. There's something uniquely unpleasant about being too hot. Genuinely in 50 years or so I think air conditioning will be seen as essential as central heating is now.

Incompetent Nepo baby? Not a bad man by any means, just a useless one.

Good. I'm glad it's affecting him.

The doctors and engineers again?

I also swear by Beconase. I also find that Benadryl (Acravastine) works much better for me than any other antihistamine in tablet form. Fexofenadine, Loratadine, Cetirazine etc don't touch me. Only downside is that it's stupidly expensive.
