But we don't have a well balanced squad and we don't have an abundance of riches. We don't have adequate cover for a lot of people in the side. In fact I'd the majority of the starting 11 can't really be adequately replaced with promotion chasing quality with Winks and Vestergaard being the most obvious stand outs for me, followed by KDH, Ndidi, Hermansen, Ricardo and then probably slightly more controversially Mavididi. We got relegated with a very expensive wage bill but a big part of why we got relegated is that a lot of those players are grossly over paid. The quality of the depth of our squad has been one of the most ridiculously exaggerated aspects of our entire season. We started the year with Wanya and McAteer starting as wingers. Even the positions we look strong on paper (probably centre back, up front and at full back) all turned out to be misleading because the specific roles Maresca wants and the quite specialised skill sets that go with them.
-
Yep hard to disagree with this. At the risk of being a stuck record, I thought the closest we've come to adequately replacing him was putting McAteer there. Praet and Yunus just don't have the same energy, athleticism, physicality. We could do with a real proper dynamo in there next year.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Finnegan replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I just don't see us making deals like Fatawu and Winks or even Coady and Mavididi if we're that close to the edge, to be honest. And KDH definitely would have gone. Of course there's always the possibility that accepting our fate, getting promoted and just simply taking a 10 point deduction and thinking it's better than not being in the Prem at all is just... the plan. But it's far more likely that the Sun are just taking a bunch of speculation and just filling inches up with it while it's relevant news given Everton and Forest. If credible sources start chiming in then okay sure, maybe there's grounds for concern. But it's the ****ing Sun and that article isn't an article, it's not journalism, it's just rumourmongering -

No sources, no numbers, bunch of speculation, The Sun. This isn't a story it's just page filler and clickbait. There are over 20 adverts on that page, I stopped counting, probably over 30. Every person that clicks they get paid for each of them. -
United the most embarrassing collection of divers.

I try not to ever really moan about the atmosphere when I'm not at the ground. But the complete and total lack of urgency and desperation in the atmosphere is depressing as well. It absolutely does lift the team. There's nothing at all.
-
If we lose this with this kind of performance I actually WILL be quite worried, to be honest. This is a squad of vulnerable confidence playing in front of a crowd that is impatient and generates no atmosphere and energy. All with a very inexperienced manager. I can see this form snowballing if we aren't careful.

Was literally our best player on the pitch wtf were you watching. Had zero service and still covered basically every blade of grass. The **** is wrong with some of you.
-
Literally just Middlesbrough again. Same ****ing thing. Just piss weak. Both games like watching Rodgers sides play. Actually thought Leeds was a good performance until it wasn't but these two last home games have been absolutely ****ing dog shit.
-
It's not just that though. It's just that that unit is so vital to how we progress the ball and beat a press.
-
There's nothing wrong with the tactics or lineup the players just need to pull their ****ing fingers out. We look absolutely half arsed right across the pitch. Yes, they're parking the bus and it's difficult but that's not an excuse for just playing slowly with no intensity. That Yunus cross across the goal was a right example. KDH awake, alert and up for the fight would have beaten the defender to it and scored, he just needed to be faster and more aggressive, it wasn't great defending. Sums us up today. We look disinterested or complacent or something I dunno.

Some of the suggestions on here sometimes I swear to God

Daka is comfortably our best striker it isn't even close anymore. He played well against Leeds, albeit he did butcher one hideous chance. He's been easily our best attacking player on the pitch today. In fact, he's pretty much the only one that looks like he cares.
-
Well no we don't agree because I didn't say that. He's definitely not shit. He has been poor today though.
-
We are so reliant on that unit of Ricardo, Hermansen, Winks and Vestergaard. You take it apart and we look really mid table at times.
-
Mavididi and Fatawu have been pointless. KDH, Yunus and Praet have all been anonymous. Absolutely shit performance to be honest.
-
Playing with this intensity we might equalise but I don't see us getting two to win it. Just half asleep.

Ref working so hard to give Leeds a chance there.

I'm sure Leeds will turn it around against 10 men, Huddersfield are crap. But Christ, can you imagine being back 9 points above them just one match day after they go nuts about closing the gap. Demoralising.
