Cov is a decent sized city with only one team. It's obviously going to have a fair sized potential fanbase, probably not wildly different to ours. It's also been one of the most horrific clubs in English football to support for like the last 40 years, it's not really a surprise that attendances dropped off so significantly. Also not really surprising that fans will slowly start coming back when they start winning again. Every fanbase in the country loves singing stuff like "where were you when you were shit" but literally every fanbase in the country gets less arses on seats the further down the leagues they drop. Football is more fun to go and watch when your team isn't god awful. It's not rocket science.

We also had near zero credible threat on the break to keep them honest when they were trying to come back in to the game because Ayew can neither run in behind or effectively press.

Compared to our wage bill it's nothing. We've lost about half a billion in failed transfers and God knows what on over inflated wages, particularly for players that then sit on the bench or aren't even in the match day squad. You don't really have to look much beyond that to see why we are where we are.

The man has absolutely no man management skills. Not a single player who was lacking in confidence or commitment under Cooper and RVN has been revitalised by Cifuentes and in-game we have no spirit at all. The entire squad plays with fear, we're so easily rattled, we frequently collapse and throw everything away, we're often very poor straight out of the tunnel in one or both halves. Yeah that'd probably be my list if I had to name the people I can tolerate. Love Ricky, just think he's very misused now. I'd have him almost entirely as a centre mid these days. Don't disagree on Skipp, he clearly cares and I think he's gotten better now he seems to have built some confidence and Cifuentes is leaving him alone to just be a defensive midfielder and largely just hold. Fatawu obviously I like a lot, one of the few. Stephy I don't firmly hate but he's clearly a long, long way off form and doesn't inspire me with any particular confidence. I don't feel great when he's on the team sheet, same as Daka really. Struggle to see either having any big impact under Marti.
