  1. Worst ever, easily
  2. Maybe mentioned prior or elsewhere on here, but today’s Times football supplement Dominic Akiboye Page 13 carries an honest appraisal of where we are at as a club, the likelihood of a buyer, and cuts through a lot of “sell the club,” comments on here. We are not an attractive proposition, and our facilities are the only thing Premier League we have. This is gonna be a long tough ride back, and really raises the question just who in their right mind would look at buying us.
  3. Looking at this weekend,Macateer, Fatawu, Justin, Maguire, Bassey,Tielemans, Dewsbury Hall, Chilwell, all seemed to be doing ok, we won’t see their like again in my lifetime…..similarly, our academy, Chilwell, Dewsbury,Monga, Macateer, Page still in negotiations add that Alves, Nelson, Braybrook, Joseph,Aluko, will raise more money than its cost to run it, and finally Man CIty bought two players for more than the value of our club….the game has changed, we have gone backwards, them great days have gone, and they ain’t coming back…..
  4. We don’t actually know MaCarthy likes playing out from the back, Russell coaching I suspect, but either way he stopped us from dropping points last night with some fantastic saves…..can you imagine it on here if we had frittered the lead……
  5. Sadly he is potentially a great footballer, ball at feet, head up, driving forward, but in the end money will decide where his future lies….
  6. Didn’t hear much moaning as it was the year we won the championship….
  7. For three years people on here clamouring to offload senior players who don’t care about the club….Martin/.we have done/are doing what our supporters asked. We now have a team of talented youngsters, who are good to watch, play creative, passing football, and all everybody does is blame the current manager. He is doing what most on here asked for, and needs our support, not saying he is there yet, but there were green shoots of recovery today…..
  8. Half a season at Monaco and a nine match unbeaten run, including beating PSG, surely he could handle Milton Keynes?
  9. At last……a transfer where the incoming player was the least important part of the whole deal, and probably a good deal for us, KDH and Chelsea at the time…..
  10. All of our players should be at a better level than League One…..so we should see the benefit of that…..
  11. Whist I am sure Russell dearly wants (and needs) success, but he will be paid in full, and therefore employment and wages, will still be delivered good or bad. I have been pleasantly surprised by him, good communication, handled tricky transfers, and suggesting not done yet…..on to Nottingham…..
  12. For Manchester City and United £10m is a gamble….it could (easily based on performances) be argued that Page is less of a risk…..but given £10m over buying some players £50m+ both clubs have signed and barely used, it will be part of their plans to sign the best prospects in the game….it maybe that £10m today turns into £50m tomorrow….low risk based on turnover
  13. Hull away year after winning league……
  14. So if he goes, along with Monga and a couple of others we’ll bank £20.5m plus add ons…..whilst we would like to keep them, that is fantastic business, as both (any) players would want to go to further their careers, surely this is part of an Academy’s role, circa £25 mill in…..and start again? I keep reading criticism of selling youngsters, the academy generally, and the desire to play 4 or 5 youngsters this season…..might be me but suggests we are doing something right…..
  15. We are in League One. We still could be next year We might not The players we can sign, will be aware of this. If they don’t need to take the risk of joining a League One club Wes Burns has possibly traded a one year contact at a higher level for a three year contract at a lower level. At 31, a lower salary over a longer period is better for him and his family Ipswich have a new Manager, who clearly was happy to let him go We have a new Manager who clearly sees him as beneficial for this season and likely next Every footballer (pretty much) has had injuries, occupational hazard
  16. His age? Jordan Henderson, Danny Welbeck, Ashley Young, and countless other over 30’s….three good years is quite feasible, given we have no idea what division we will be in at the end of it……
  17. Come on, surely other clubs don’t overprice players to the level they’ll never ever be sold…….
  18. Given our financial predicament why the f@ck are they going to Spain?
  19. We were trying to stay up last year……
  20. Which is why West Ham won’t sign him…..
