  1. William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, Sean Connery, Billy Connelly, Rab. C Nesbitt, Colin Montgomerie, the Krankies, Gordon Brown, Rod Stewart, Alan Wells, Nicola Sturgeon, Andy Murray, Andrew Neil. Can you hear me, can you hear me? Your boys are taking one hell of a beating.
  2. ''Walsh who thumped a fellow player''. Walsh thumped loads of fellow players. He probably thumped more fellow players than you've had hot dinners. Definitely a Leicester legend.
  3. Jamie as Player Manager.
  4. That advert was filmed in Shaftesbury in Dorset.
  5. I think Eddie Howe will get sacked in the close season.
  6. If Tottenham win tonight, they will go into the last game knowing that they might need a big win, say 8 or 9-0 to overtake Villa on goal difference (if Villa only draw away at Palace) and finish 4th. Far-fetched I know, but their last game is away at Sheffield. I already fear for our 0-9 record.
  7. Don't worry. That record will never be beaten. Even Sheffield united comfortably exceeded it this season.
  8. Logically, we should want the weakest 2 teams of the remaining promotion candidates to go up with us, as we are more likely to finish above them next season in the PL. So definitely not Leeds and Southampton. I think the best case scenario for us is for Ipswich to finish 2nd and Norwich to win the play-offs.
  9. It would have been a marriage made in heaven.
  10. I saw my 1st game in '75 too. I'd have Walshie up there with him though. Wish they'd played together.
  11. The first promotion season I remember was the 1979/80 season under Jock Wallace. That was better than this one. My favourite promotion season was 93/94 under Brian Little.
  12. Match of the Day tonight is awful.
  13. 0-4 now. Our only hope of the 0-9 record remaining intact is if the match is abandoned because of a pitch invasion or a sudden monsoon. Even if that happened though, it'd still have to be replayed at a later date.
  14. 5,000 to 1. So no chance at all.
  15. I fear for our away win record tonight.
  16. Since the 1988/89 season, which was the first to be played with a 2nd tier consisting of 24 teams and 3 points for a win, a structure which has been maintained in the 2nd tier ever since, there have been only 2 seasons when our current points total of 75 wasn't sufficient to finish in 6th place or higher. Those were the 2014/15 season when 78 points were needed for 6th place and the 2016/17 season when 76 points were needed. The lowest points total needed for a 6th place finish has been 68 in the 2005/06 season and in the 2012/13 season. So in 33 of the last 35 seasons, 75 points has been enough to finish 6th or higher. I predict that this season the required total for 6th will be on the low side, possibly even lower than 68, because the top 3 teams will have taken so many points away from other teams and all 3 will probably exceed 90 points.
  17. I think our 0-9 record will go tonight. I can also see the abysmal Sheffield losing all their remaining games this season and breaking Derby's lowest points tally of 11. A double whammy in prospect.
  18. One Hundred and Eighhhhhhty.
  19. Ipswich can't catch us.
  20. Happened all the time in the good old days.
  21. Not quite on topic but I used to know a bloke who supported Derby County at football and Nottinghamshire at county cricket. He couldn't explain how those divided loyalties had come about but they do exist.
  22. Birmingham have always been a joke club. As Jasper Carrot once said ''You lose some, you draw some.''
  23. Wazza will get the Man U job when Ten Hag gets the sack.
