Sheff Wed -10th Aug 16:30 - First up?
Merchant_Banker replied to Spudulike's topic in Leicester City Forum
Hopefully the manager and players are focused on winning this game, not on feeling sorry for Wednesday fans or complaining about how badly things are run. If we go into this game without that focus we could easily lose. Those Wednesday players who remain could use their problems to develop a siege mentality and decide to really scrap for every point. -

Is there really that much potential? Two 'big' clubs in a small city with other 'big' clubs nearby and no real global following. -
I think, unless Fatawu plays most of the Fiorentina match, that McAteer will start on the right. Based on pre-season and the fact that Mav missed the last friendlies I think Monga starts on the left. That is purely at the moment and I am not suggesting this would continue beyond the first game.
-
Decent cover as 2nd/3rd choice depending on Hermansen
-
I think Kristiansen is going or we would have seen more of him in pre-season, his 'injury' is suspicious. I think Ricardo will run down his contract, but I would offer Thomas and JJ an extension on sensible terms. We could usee this season to find out if Aluko and, possibly, Jayden Joseph can step up, if not then we look for better for next season.
-
I keep mentioning his name, but we could have got Hayden Hackney for less than we paid for Skipp, but we have probably missed the boat now.
-
This is the key part. If Aluko understudies Ricardo, with James on the left, then he is going to get plenty of games. I think Coulibaly is finished with LCFC, or never started!
-
I think this is one of the problems with Cifuentes joining late in pre-season. He has been able to see all of the players in their current positions, but has not been able to test them in other, e.g. as you say, Bilal at 8. I would also have liked to see McAteer at 8, others have said McAteer at 9, and what about Monga at 10 and Evans at 9?
-
Bless you!
-
No, but would have been a reasonable squad player. Cover at LB or in midfield, unfortunately we already have enough over 30, overpaid players.
-
Stolarczyk Ricardo. Nelson Okoli. Thomas. Winks McAteer El.Khanouss Fatawu. Mavididi. Monga
-
Is it just me or does OHL seem to be much better organised than LCFC at the moment. Maybe we could swap DoFs?

Marti Cifuentes - Style of Play, Tactics and Analysis
Merchant_Banker replied to StriderHiryu's topic in Leicester City Forum
I finally understand what Martiball is, it's not new at all, it's really old. He pushes both fullbacks forward into midfield and plays with two attacking eights. It's an old fashioned, table football 2-3-5. You wait, when you see the players moving side to side at the same time you will know I'm right. -

I find it difficult to focus on the tactics when the commentator keeps talking about El Chanouss. -
Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)

Yes. Apologies to those desparate to see a link to Faes leaving. -

Yes, you are definitely deluded. The only way he leaves will be on loan with us paying 90% of his wages. No one is going to pay for him and get close to the wages we are paying. -
My understanding was that this is a line of credit secured against future guaranteed income, i.e. we can use the facility when we need it rather waiting until payments come in. In the same way that companies factor invoices that have been raised, but not paid, although the most of the payments will be contractual obligations against more reliable organisations.
-
Don't agree with that. He was bullying his right back and tended to come out with the ball. In another thread he was compared to Daka who fell over a lot and lost the ball. I think both Monga and Evans showed they were strong enough and willing to fight for the ball.
-
If they don't I suspect the manager will be quite happy to play the younger players.
-
It's easy to say he has to go, but no one else wants him or is willing to pay him the wages that we are. Same goes for most of the other deadwood.

Unreal moment from an average player?

Ayew, this pre-season. -
Corrected for you.

Victor Kristiansen (an option for Forest, Percy.)
Merchant_Banker replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
He also thinks he is too good for the Championship and he is obviously not good enough for the PL, so good riddance. -
Wow, thank you. I had it fixed in my mind it was Saturday.
