  1. I am 60 soon and would have no qualms about taking a retest. What about something like: First fail - OK, anyone can have a bad day. Retest in a month (or whatever) Second fail - P plates and same restrictions as new drivers. Third fail - Back to L plates etc or admit that you aren’t safe to be on the road any more.
  2. That’s right. International Break was 25 March, we lost to Palace on 1 April and Rodgers was sacked the following day. Smith didn’t come in until 10 April and the Villa/Bournmouth games were in between.
  3. It was very noticeable that we booed Mavadidi being taken off but cheered Fatawu running on. Hopefully that was clear to the players and Mav didn’t think he was being booed.
  4. I am so glad we will be on holiday thousands of miles away, hopefully with dodgy internet.
  5. What finally killed us that year was the two home games against Villa and Bournmouth when we had Waldorf and Stadler in charge. Not having a replacement lined up when they finally sacked Rodgers was a shocking case of mismanagement.
  6. 100%. Pickford was time wasting after 12 minutes and the whole team was after we scored. It would have been wonderful if we had scored after 4 mins of injury time and they didn’t have time to reply.
  7. He was probably about the best we have had this year although that doesn’t say a lot when the last one had more touches of the ball than our number 9. He was inconsistent in which fouls he gave and which he let go but I don’t think he favoured either side. Having said that he didn’t really have any big decisions to make apart from Calvert-Lewin’s comical dive in the first half.
  8. Agreed but having started Ayew his mistake was not bringing him off earlier. Fatawu against Young would have been comical, as you say, he’s half his fúcking age 🤣.
  9. The mistake was not bringing Ayew off for Fatawu 30 minutes earlier to share the attacking load with Mav because Ayew offered the square root of eff-all going forward.
  10. Yet it was ‘Breaking News’ on the BBC and Sky websites. I didn’t notice tbh, the length of the HT interval seems so random these days anyway.
  11. I don’t have an issue with the technology. Once the ticket is opened it’s as quick to wave your phone at the reader as wave the card. It works for me equally well with my phone or my watch. As has been said before, the club wants to be able to keep track of who is sitting in a particular seat, presumably in case there is trouble. All PL Clubs are the same in this regard. Two or more people sharing a season ticket shouldn’t matter to the club because every game more or less sells out so there is no loss of revenue and if I lend my ticket to a mate because I can’t go, the club at least potentially makes something from merch and catering. What they don’t want is me selling my ticket every week on the black market to some randomer for say £40 a pop. So my suggestion would be: - Unlimited forwarding within a small group, say 4 for arguments sake. - Stress that I am responsible for the behaviour of anyone I forward my ticket to. - Continue with the option of the official resale platform as it is.
  12. I said isn’t that bad and that it would look weird not that it’s the wrong thing to do. Don’t get me wrong, I’d drive down to Seagrave now and empty his desk myself but it is the performances that worry me far more than the points total. Even if we had won yesterday I would still want him gone before the Arsenal game.
  13. With Rodgers we had a year of deteriorating results in 21-22 only just avoiding being dragged into a relegation scrap. The start to 22-23 was unbelievably bad, was it 1 point in 7/8 games? The board didn’t sack him then, presumably because he talked a good game and would have been too expensive to sack. I can’t believe Cooper would cost anything like that to sack but to get rid after 5 league games would look weird. 3 points from 5 isn’t that bad, it’s the performances that worry me. I don’t see any lack of effort (yet) from the players, they just look as though they don’t know what they are meant to be doing. My worry is that if results don’t improve they will get disillusioned, effort will drop off and the hammerings will follow. The only tactic yesterday seemed to be a bit of Enzoball around the back then hoof a big diagonal ball towards the wings which Tarcowski and Keane will always mop up 9 times out of 10. If I had my way he’d be gone by teatime but I am afraid I can’t see anything happening on that front this side of Christmas.
  14. My wife and daughter sold their tickets on the resale platform for yesterday. Anyone know what would have happened if the match had been postponed or abandoned? There is probably something on the website but I can’t find it anywhere.
  15. The difference is that back then there was a group of senior players, Wes, Kasper etc who Top listened to when things were going wrong but I don’t see that strength of leadership now with the possible exception of Vards. I’m not saying that was always a good thing because some have said that Kasper particularly had too much influence but it is the reality and is one of the reasons why we are likely to be stuck with the useless gimp until midway through the season at least.
  16. This is the problem. Even under Rogers you could see what they were trying to do although it was ultra-defensive sideways passing but today there just didn’t seem to be any strategy or tactics whatsoever.
  17. Ndidi was doing his job as a ball winner ok but he was being asked to play as a 10 looking for the scoring pass which he failed at miserably. Just because he did it once last week doesn’t mean he can play the role.
  18. It is a simple fact that it is not possible to project a 3-D situation onto a 2-D image without a loss of information so unless the camera is more or less in line so effectively eliminating one dimension they are trying to do the impossible. The operator has no way to tell how far above the pitch JJ’s foot was so can’t know when to stop the vertical line, this obviously affects where the horizontal line goes. Dermot was just talking bollocks as usual about the technology always being right and the two nodding donkeys just went along with him. VAR should have the option to say “Sorry, we haven’t got a good enough picture here so we stick with the on-field decision”
  19. I’ve driven dozens of EVs while plating and this is by far the worst I have come across. Checking online since I posted the max claimed is only 124 so about 80 useable with no accessories and reduced performance. Ok if all you do is short commutes and can charge at home/work but who buys a Cooper S for that kind of driving?
  20. Originally dynamic pricing was airlines reducing the price as the date of a flight got nearer to try to fill the plane. The unintended consequence of this was that people waited for a ‘last minute bargain’ so airlines didn’t know how much revenue they were going to get until very late. If there is one thing businesses hate it’s uncertainty. Now the cheapest flight tickets are almost always on the day they are released and are increased according to the level of demand. The best (worst) example of this I have seen was the day the UCL fixtures were announced with hundreds of us frantically refreshing the RyanAir website before the announcement and the prices going up just because we were looking.
  21. Anyone got any experience with a Mini Cooper S EV? I picked one up today to transfer to another dealer on Monday with 85% remaining charge and about 90 miles range. Stopped to charge on the way home and it is now sat on my drive with 58% charge and 61 miles range. This means roughly 1% charge = 1 mile range so keeping it between 20% and 80% charge gives a useable range of 60 miles. This was driving in green+ mode (no air con etc) and 20 degrees outside so goodness knows what it would be in freezing temperatures. Added to which who wants to drive a Cooper S in anything but Sport mode. Is this normal or is the battery fúcked?
  22. The “We don’t want any more Leicester Cities” was in a slightly different context because nobody ever suggested we bought our way to the title in 15-16. The club with the biggest interest in this is the one with vast amounts of wealth that the rules do not allow them to spend. What they really mean is they don’t want any Newcastle Uniteds.
  23. I have been saying this for a while but I would make the bond the cumulative loss over the previous 3 years whatever division the club had been in. You would probably have to do it progressively initially but if a club can’t make the bond then they have a transfer ban until they can. FFP was always about stopping clubs going bust not levelling the playing field.
  24. It’s the inconsistency that winds up fans, players and managers alike. Both Skipp’s tackle and Tiellemans on Vardy could be described as ‘man and ball’ so either neither is a foul or they both are. Neither was dangerous so my preference is play on. It’s never a good sign when both sets of players and fans constantly questioning decisions. I don’t think he was biased, just breathtakingly incompetent. He lost control early on and never regained it but then it’s what we have come to expect from too many Premier League referees.
  25. Spurs fans have always been a particular favourite target for him. Along with Palace and West Brom for some reason.
