Being relegated 2 games before the end of the season in this crappest of all Championships is some achievement. That Hull team have been in the top 6 nearly all season.
The underlying stats in games have been marginally better under him, compared to Marti, but he's just too cautious with his approach and selections, which has cost us in the end. Out of his depth at a club of this size.
Since his first 2 games he's totally switched off. It was overlooked at the time but he also walked straight past those young fans at Sheff Wed, like Ayew. Has bags of talent but he won't make it at Man City with the kind of attitude he's shown here, even allowing for the fact he's come into a total bin fire as a very young player.
Rohl was the obvious choice and might have been able to get a tune out of this lot. But wasn't it the need to pay compensation to Wednesday that scuppered that happening? Or did Rudkin think Cifuentes was the better bet?!
Has added no value and made no difference. Compare his impact to that of other managers brought in around the same time at other struggling clubs eg Bloomfield at Oxford, Morrison at West Brom and O'Neill at Blackburn. Awful.
You're right that we should have tried a different formation and approach but I genuinely think this squad is so poor and rotten that the outcomes would have been similar, to be honest.
Looked an absolute baller in his first 2 matches. Since then has got worse and worse and now looks like he doesn't care and has zero confidence. The Leicester City curse strikes again!
