  1. True, but he didn't inherit a dressing room full of arrogant overpaid players who think they should be playing in the PL or a top league in Europe.
  2. On the EFL podcast they say that Lincoln are super direct. That's backed up by the fact that they have the lowest possession in the division across the season.
  3. Saw this ad on TV earlier and thought, blimey, old Russell has put on a bit of timber!
  4. We've had seasons in the bottom half of the Championship before but what makes this very different is that this bin fire of a team receives wages that dwarf what other clubs in the league are paying. In pure vfm terms this has to be the lowest point in the club's history and arguably in the history of the Championship. It must surely be virtually impossible to have the highest wage bill in this league and yet not only be so low in the table but produce performances that undoubtedly deserve us being even lower.
  5. We are in huge trouble. Based on yesterday's performance, I can see us being dragged into a relegation battle even without a points deduction. Being beaten so easily at home by a team who are next to bottom and with only one previous away win all season (at Sheff Wed) is truly alarming. If we can't win a game like this where are the points coming from to avoid a financially catastrophic fall to League One? We've been incredibly fortunate to have as many wins as we do have this season, let's be honest. The concern now is that our luck has finally run out. Very few of this team will be up for a relegation battle and it's not like we have a fanbase who will drive us to safety in home games. For those who've seen Sunderland Till I Die, the current situation seems very familiar.
  6. He's not going tonight then. He better be gone tomorrow.
  7. Was especially abysmal today.
  8. Love watching them. Have a go whoever they are playing.
  9. Feel so jealous watching Bournemouth beat Liverpool. Watching a team play with such commitment, energy and attacking intent feels an impossible dream for us now.
  10. You're far too generous. Irrespective of some of the things against him, his performance as manager has been appalling for months now. He is clearly not getting the best out of the team.
  11. Should have been sacked within half an hour of the final whistle. Surely to God he's not going to be given any more games?
  12. Scenes when the same XI are still on the pitch when we're 1 down with 15 minutes left.
  13. This can't go on.
  14. Couldn't make the game today. Is it looking like the concourse boycott is happening?
  15. All while having by far the highest wage bill of any club in the league. Disgraceful really.
  16. Out of interest, who would you play as the wing backs?
  17. Ayew can do one but great to see Page given a chance as an 8. Looks like Daka and Soumaré are being ostracised or left out in case they are moved out this month.
  18. His point about our failure to use performance related pay was very interesting. What makes our approach even more unforgivable is that the year when our wages really ramped up to an unsustainable level was when we were coming off the back of two 5th place finishes. We were in a massively strong negotiating position to get good deals as we were clearly a very attractive proposition to players. And yet, whether through hubris or incompetence, we just threw money at players, many of whom probably couldn't believe their luck as they're sh1t. My view is that all this stems from incompetence, not hubris. Can't think how else it would be that any group of senior execs of a major company would have signed off on a wage bill that was 116% of turnover. WTAF?! That is rank incompetence and is at the root of all of our problems. Plus it takes so long to address this, especially when you sign too many duff players who nobody wants. Hence why 4 or 5 years later, even after selling our stars, we are still saddled with an eye watering wage bill and a bang average squad (if that). It's so sad that the hierarchy messed things up so badly. It should never have come to this, given the position we were in.
  19. What's his prognosis of our financial sustainability over coming years, given that we keep taking out loans against future income to meet current bills? Is there a possibility we are heading for administration in a few years in his view?
  20. The whole culture and spirit of the club is broken. Imagine scoring a last minute equaliser and neither the fans nor players celebrate. Imagine Ayew seemingly time wasting whilst taking a free kick when we are 1 down with a couple of minutes left. Imagine the manager not making any subs by choice until the 78th minute when the momentum of the game was clearly against us for the whole of the second half. Imagine Ayew being left on the pitch for 90 minutes again, besmirching the number 9 shirt. It's genuinely getting to the point when I'm not sure I can sit through many more games like this.
  21. The fact that he is our manager is an embarrassment.
  22. That's definitely our "good" half. Second half playing against the wind, with Wrexham raining high balls into our box is going to be grim viewing.
  23. Coarsworth also scored 2 cracking goals at Barnsley in a 3-2 win. I was there!
  24. The only positive thought I can muster tonight is that including this one there are only another 19 league games to go this season.
  25. Okoli at RB instead of Aluko?! This manager really is clueless. Assume Vesty has been knocking on his door so he's felt the need to play him again, but he doesn't think he can drop Okoli. Weak.
