  1. He's basically a younger version of Steve Bruce or Chris Wilder. Readjusting to our new lowly status in the pecking order is not easy to take. This appointment is maybe the point at which I've reluctantly reached acceptance on the grief curve.
  2. This is a big issue for me. We're not going to be attractive as it is, given the likely big points deduction, so we really needed a manager who players would be excited to play for. Maresca quickly convinced players to stay last season, despite being in the Championship, because he sold an exciting vision. Just can't see Cooper having the same effect. Can't see Winks and Ricardo wanting to play in a low block team watching the ball sail over their heads. Plus, it's not even like we have a squad set up for sh1tehouse ball, like Everton did when Dyche came in.
  3. To be fair, it's not as if we will be asking fans to pay £72 per match to watch this sort of sh1t. Oh....
  4. Absolutely no from me. Very surprised that so many are saying they are "happy". Was expecting 80/20 against the appointment.
  5. Seeing this makes you realise how lucky they were to stay up, which we knew anyway.
  6. Just praying that this news about Cooper is Preki Mark 2 and is a smokescreen for our real managerial target. Surely we can't be appointing Cooper?
  7. Shocked to see that Cooper is now the front runner. He would be a truly underwhelming appointment which would show how far our stock has fallen over recent years. Appointing a manager whose best achievement is just about keeping up a promoted club and then getting sacked early the following season after winning 20% of the PL games he managed in. The club is going backwards fast, sadly.
  8. Some people do talk sh1te on here!
  9. Really poor effort from our top order batsmen again, apart from Rishi. Mulder, Kimber and Handscomb need to be scoring more heavily. Will be very surprising if we don't lose fairly easily from now on.
  10. Yep - with an option to buy for £10m, which they'll seek to negotiate down next summer, even if Soumaré has 100 goal involvements in the season whilst leading Galatasaray to a league and CL double. Absolute jokers.
  11. I can. We are the most bonkers club in the world.
  12. Very sad news. Made a great impression in his short time with us. RIP, Super Kev.
  13. Shocking news. Very sad to hear. Remember he played against us last season.
  14. Well beaten tonight. Lancs are a stronger, more experienced team. Just move on.
  15. Swindells in for Budinger tonight.
  16. Couldn't watch the game but was following it. Gave up with 3 overs to go but the lads proved me wrong!
  17. Vesty will be starting in defence.
  18. We do seem to gift a lot of wickets by hitting the ball in the air to fielders on the boundary.
  19. Well said!
  20. Surely Mulder's bowling is decent too? Tbh, but for too many wides, I thought Mike bowled alright too. Currie and Holland were the problem, bowling a combined 5 overs for 62.
  21. Always felt like they would chase that down, even though it went down to the last 3 balls. We just don't look like taking enough wickets. Massive game on Sunday - lose that and our chances will already be looking grim, given that we've not even played Warwickshire, Notts or Lancs yet.
  22. I agree possession in itself means nothing but sub 20% possession means you are basically hanging on for dear life for the whole game. And that's basically what Forest did in many games under Cooper in the PL.
  23. Well, it certainly isn't playing 541, having 20% possession and winning 20% of your games, which is what Cooper did in the PL with F*rest.
  24. Yes but I would rather dream about what is possible with someone unknown and unproven than appoint someone who has already had a go in the PL and been sacked after winning 20% of his games.
  25. I don't think it's true that the Forest connection is the main reason for the majority of folk being opposed to Cooper. Rather that's the cherry on the cake of dismay that we have been reduced to making such an unambitious appointment that seems to go against any pretence to play attractive football, as previously set out in the board's vision for the club. I guess all of the other candidates are too expensive or simply aren't interested, so he's the only option. It's a harsh reality for us to face after the highs of the previous decade.
