Pep has achieved a lot you can’t deny that. But he has been at the best clubs domestically and arguably in Europe at the time. And he hasn’t really dominated Europe with his sides (after doing well in Europe with Barca). With the cheating at Man City, and the fact he’s not yet had relative success with a Stoke or a West Brom, I’m also posing the question as to whether he’s just a cheque book manager. Could he do it - or have relative success - with limited resources? We don’t know, so the jury will always be a out - a tad. Also consider whether Pep is just a bald Russell Martin? Genuinely, Martin’s methods are similar and will not work with the likes of Southampton (like Kompany at Burnley last season). Put Russell Martin in charge at Man City (god forbid he’d be even more insufferable than he is now) and I think you may see the same results.

Classic Cooper. Why have we not changed something to negate what they’ve done? They’ve had a good 30 mins of dominance, and yet we look so passive and not sure what we’re doing. He takes an age to do anything.

With Blooper you have no idea how it’s going to go. Despite all the negativity I wouldn’t be surprised if we win, but I can’t call it. Not seen much of Ipswich this season, and surprised they’ve brought so many new players in. I thought we were good for 2 wins against them last season on the balance of play, and I think they massively prospered from Leeds and Southampton being more inconsistent than them. Whenever I watched them I couldn’t really understand or see if how they’d come through 2 divisions so quickly - which probably means with Blooper at the helm (and it’s away and Coopers record away in PL is atrocious) we’ll get a hiding.

He was absolutely our best player on Wednesday: I’m no admirer of Soumare, but at least acknowledge when he had a good game. I’d go as far as saying I’d give him some starts in the league if he plays like he did on Wednesday night.

He now looks more like the hopeless player that Rodgers gave a few games to in his final seasons.
