These young players running down their contracts at Ajax, aren't doing so so they can rock up at the mighty Leicester. He'll have far better options, on far better wages come the summer, unfortunately. -
The league is in danger of becoming a closed shop of 17 teams, the gap will continue to widen unless a promoted team can relegate 1 of the weaker Prem teams. Look at the teams that'll come up when us 3 go down, Leeds aside you just know they won't be able to attract the kind of player that'll keep them up. Yet teams like Wolves are struggling in 17th, littered with internationals. Good luck to those coming up, somebody needs to flush a couple of these turds for the good of the pyramid. Edit: (already alluded to by @SouthStandUpperTier@SouthStandUpperTier)

It's not about the quality of player, it's now the likeliness of it happening. I could put out a list of: Foden - Loan Alphonso Davies - 10m Fofana - 40m Maddison - 10m Dias - 100m They'd all improve us but it's still a terrible list.
-
Like somebody said above, him and Boselli please. £20m well spent, not huge wages and would probably hang around 1 season if we go down.
-
You're right. I'll just clap along and quietly think "gee, wouldn't it be nice if the people paid hansomly to run this club, knew what they were doing" I shall not call for Ruud, he was the wrong choice but that's not his fault. The club needs selling, we settle into mediocre Championship under this rabble.

He was never going to come in and instantly make this batch of competition winners better. There are at least 8 players in this starting lineup that have no right to earn a living in the PL at the moment, and we aren't replacing all of them in January. We needed a manager that could make us better than the sum of our parts, Ruud isn't that man. He gets a free pass from me this season, we're going down, he won't get sacked so we'll just see what happens in the summer. We're hard to support with this board running things.

Honking. Yes, the squad isn't great, but there are better players sitting on our bench. Don't see how we win this.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
wardyfox86 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Cooper was a lost cause, the players were never going to raise their game for him. The issue with Ruud is, does he have the ability to make this rabble perform better than the sum of its parts after the obvious "new manager bounce?" If not, then it's going to have to be a fantastic transfer window to keep us up, as well as some tactical tweaks to stop us shipping 20+ shots a game. If that doesn't happen either, then you have to question whether, again, it was the correct appointment or whether we needed someone who knows his way around a bang average squad, a la Dyche who makes his turds unflushable, or Moyes. Despite those questions, i'm backing RvN, he gets a free pass even if we go down this year. He needs to be backed ridiculously heavily for me in January to change the view that everything around him is the issue. Squad, recruitment, DoF etc. -
It'll be impressive if Winks can do that from the treatment table!
-
Imagine McAteer is being used for his defensive contribution for the first 50/60 minutes. Gordon and/or Barnes will be a nightmare for JJ, it's a scary thought.
-
Under his guidance, LCFC learned to walk again. He gave us the platform to not only run, but to fly to the stars. I hope his recovery emulates that 💙

He's a bit like a budget Oxlade-Chamberlain, who spent years trying to find his best position, he didn't really have the attributes to fit anywhere. Like him, will probably end up in a mid 3.
-
Are they allowed to sack him?? They aren't in the relegation zone.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
wardyfox86 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Good idea, but we have a game midweek so there isn't enough time -
VI've lowered my expectation to absolute zero throughout December. A point this month is a bonus point with this squad (a few exceptions) and will see what business is done in January. My passion has gone completely, Ruud won't save this bin fire as long as those above him hold a position. Top can just move the club to Penzance, and we'll create a phoenix club.
-
If he hasn't got the balls to sack this incompetent muppet, he needs to sell up. He's trusted people under him to run this club and they've done so appallingly.

Ruud awakening for the Premier League!

Got a horrible feeling this is going to be a continuation of the absolute circus of a season so far. Hope he's got contacts to bring some January signings in at least. -

My gut feeling is, he's not what we need right now. Hopefully he proves me wrong and he gets my support to do so. Hoping he brings in some experienced coaches. Mike Phelan and Rene Meulensteen spring to mind. -
Disappointed if it's RvN, was bottom of my list of potential new managers. However, it's more interesting than keeping Cooper. Happy to be proven wrong, but we need tried and trusted for a couple of seasons, Moyes for me was the safest gamble.

All well and good but Top and his "representatives" haven't shown anything recently that suggests they're any more competent than those he's employed to undertake these roles. As much as I don't want Rudkin et al running the day to day, I don't want an Owner doing this either. Bin off your current backroom setup, Top, and get a chief scout and DoF with a vision for the future.
