What signs would there be that a win is coming? Playing well and not winning?? If so, then the second half at Stoke was a good indicator, if not the Boro game. We just got beat by the most in form team in the division, this place is hysterical at times. We probably won't get anything at Ipswich, but then should be looking at a run of fixtures where we can pick up a few wins.
-
At this point, how can we possibly persist with playing him (or Ayew) up front ahead of ANYBODY else. They offer NOTHING, try something else, it can't be worse than nothing.
-
I had said this too. With the midfield 3 looking settled and playing well, you bring JJ in for Daka and get your best players on the pitch, with 2 #10's probably. Yes, I know this doesn't work all the time, but there is such a quality drop off between our technically better players and the likes of Daka, Okoli etc.
-
Dom Ballard, whichever league we're in.
-
As was pointed out in the JJ thread, you play JJ as an 8 and nothing else. You drop 1 of our better performing midfielders and persevere with our dog muck strikers that offer absolutely nothing.
-
Do you think West Brom or Oxford are winning half their remaining games?
-
I suggested this a few days ago and was laughed at. Striker is the most ineffective position we have at the moment. Having a false 9 or 2 10's would probably be more useful. Or at worst, equally as effective as our current options.

Headache when JJ returns
-
Colour me shocked.
-
Has he hurt his back?
-
Are they wildly different ideas? This thread is generally discussing the idea of playing anybody else but Daka or Ayew upfront or in a false 9. I still maintain that a midfield and attack of: Skipp, Winks, Mavididi, Fatawu, JJ and Mukasa Would be better than persisting with a striker that just gets the nod because "he plays there"
-
I flirted this idea in the JJ thread and got roundly shot down. It got called the most unhinged opinion ever seen on this forum, I don't think people are for it.

Stoke 2-2 LCFC, post-match thread

The second half yesterday felt like a team that the fans can get behind, even more encouraging is that Rowett extracted that performance out of them after that shambolic first half. It's gonna be a difficult few match weeks where we might not get any points, I just hope the players stay on his side and we see that level of application at the very least, they were clearly told a few truths at half time. -

Dramatic much?? He's strong, good in the air and can finish. But, I can accept when I'm wrong. We can instead insist on playing Daka and Ayew. -

I guess I'm just desperate to NOT play Daka or Ayew. I consider myself told. -

I'd be tempted to drop the striker to shoehorn JJ into the squad. Our strikers are ineffective at best and a makeshift JJ or Mukasa can't do any worse up top. -

I'd be tempted to play JJ up top to shoehorn him in. Can't be any less effective than what we currently have. Would have said Mukasa with JJ behind but I though Mukasa was excellent today in his role. -

Feels crap not to win that, but saw enough there to think we COULD scrap this out. Looks like they were finally told what for at half time. -
Not sure what Luke did wrong there. Ridiculous from Gavin Ward (shock)
-
The pitch looks about as "Sunday League" as we do.
-
Hopefully these guys are about to get a half time bollocking they haven't heard since the Pearson days.
-
Are we down to 10 men or do they have 12?

Stoke (A) 21/02/26: Pre-Match Thread

We'll need at least 3 goals to get anything with our defence, I don't know if I'm looking forward to this game so much as I'm intrigued by it. Tonight's result will be huge. -
Of course not. An appeal has to have substance to it, they have to build a appeal. It's not just "I object"
-
Because some people just can't help themselves now. If we tied Jurgen Klopp down to a 4 year deal, people would complain that it's putting finances in jeapardy. Moan that it's taken 3 weeks but would find a way to moan if we employed him the next day. "safe option" "didn't even try to get anybody with any pedigree"
