Whilst we're League 1/Championship dross, we need to be picking up the young lads that have been spat out by the likes of Man City, offering them state-of-the-art facilities and a quicker pathway to first team action. You can produce 1 or 2 Darren Motsi's and be disappointed when they leave, but if you're able to snag half a dozen kids that have been shat out the other end when the big clubs steal you're highest potential players, then it's still pure profit once you sell them on. Jayden Joseph could potentially make us more money than anybody who's come through our system since age 6.

If he's as overly aggressive as some of the people in this thread, then he'll be just what we need.

Joseph has been solid playing inverted. You can see why he's in ahead of Aluko, he's a little more technically sound.

Surely the trust has to be earned, not merely given to them. And that's coming from somebody who is a fairly positive thinker, all things considered. Like you say, you WANT to have faith them but there is nothing tangible to cling to. They haven't earned it. Then the negativity continues to fester, and lingers around the whole club likely working it's way onto the pitch. So, do you merely cover up old wounds as an entire fan base, blindly trust and cheer hoping to steer the mood. Or do you continue in the negativity and hope the players can drag the club through it and give you something to cheer about. I'm more of the former, but I understand why most aren't.

So according to this forum, our scouting requirements must be: Not over 28. Free. Played in the Champ/Prem, but not relegated. Not free. Not on loan. Only on loan. Be better than our academy lads, but happy to drop down a division or 2, whilst in their prime, to be their backup. On a 1 year deal, in case we go up. How will they ever find the time to work through the extensive list of players fitting that criteria?

Whilst I agree about putting blind faith into things, what other options do you suggest? Our known quantities have had 2 straight relegations and it looks like we can only shop in the free or loan market to add to these. Any player that can GUARANTEE a good season in League One will be picked up by Championship clubs hoping they can step up. The jury will be out with anybody we pick up.

People talk like the King Power group are squeaky clean. They're no Saints (although we're turning into them) and are currently running us into oblivion. Football is now bigger business than King Power can handle/fund. Middle Eastern or American ownership is starting to feel like the only way forward in England.

The manner if how we went out is the hardest to swallow. Finishing 3rd is about where we're at, ability wise. Hmm I'm sorry, I'm not having that. 4th, sure. 3rd, maybe. Semi final is about our level, further if everybody is on it. But beyond Kane and Bellingham we're nowhere near the required depth.
