It's OK. We're incapable of playing well in 2 halves anyway. I'm almost resigned to the drop with Cooper in charge.

Bournemouth (H) 1 - 0 -- Post-Match Thread (5 Oct 24)
wardyfox86 replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
That's Cooper safe til Xmas then Seriously though, happy to get the 1st win however it comes, but that was an awful 2nd half and there won't be many more points won playing that way. Look at the chance Bournemouth had. -
And yet he's seen plenty of the ball, held it well and won free kicks to relieve pressure. It's clearly a plan and he's done well in that regard. On the flip side, we've found space behind their midfield a few times and not capitalised.

We'll get nothing from VAR this season.

This board has never appointed a manager without previous experience in England. Therefore the 1s in bold seem unlikely. Hopefully, they change their approach as id love Roger Schmidt

Arsenal (A) Match Thread - 15:00PM 28th Sept

It's Arsenal, it is what it is. But Cooper insisting on only ever playing 1 winger is infuriating. Whenever we do get the ball (always on our left) Arsenal are able to squeeze the space. But we're still in the game at least. EDIT: Nevermind I'd love to see Arteta's comments if we shithouse a point, after last week. EDIT: Nevermind -

Where did I say he wasn't? What I did say, was that he was far from the worst player on the pitch on Tuesday, and better than a few players who still scored higher than him. -
Craig Levein was the last coach we hired that didn't have previous experience in England. Have we ever appointed a manager that hasn't previously coached on the British Isles before? We won't look that far afield.
-
Spot on. Look at how he's doing at Chelsea with what was previously considered a bin fire. Every player knows their place in the team, and their role in his tactic under Enzo. Whether you liked his style or not, he was a proper leader, believed in his philosophy and will live or die by that. That gave the players freedom to do their jobs. Cooper couldn't be further away from the above qualities, there's nastiness and hate in here which is wrong. He's just not the right man and is way out of his depth.

Did they **** it up when they brought Maresca in? Did they **** it up when they brought Rodgers in? Pearson? Don't act like they always get it wrong with managers, they have as many hits as misses. This is a miss but the pickings were probably slim due to the likely sanctions. They should be judged on how quickly they come to terms with it, and who they replace him with. This will show if they've learned from the Rodgers mess.

Strange hatred of Soumare on here. Can't see how he was any worse than any other player on the pitch yesterday. It's a low bar, granted, but he was tidier on the ball than Bounanotte who everyone has scored higher. Progressed better with the ball than Hamza, who everyone scored higher. To have him in the 3's along with BDCR and Edouard is ridiculous. -
1 point against Bournemouth. Cooper doesn't win away, and there's absolutely no chance Forest don't come here and turn us over. Hopefully it'll be the Forest game that forces the board's hand, if not before.

Walsall Post Match Thread 0-0 3-0 on pens

Best outcome. Got through but put further pressure on the manager. He'll be gone within a few games. -
The thing is. You look at the players we have (a few aside) and you know they are better than the showings, they just have no direction. The only time he takes the handbrake off is to pop it in reverse.
-
Intruder on the field. If he's got a kit on, take BDCR off instead.
-
We'll win this on penalties. As drab as drab can be.
-
Who was the last manager we appointed that had no previous experience of coaching or managing in England? Do we lack imagination or is it a prerequisite? If so, it rules out all of these, plus 90% of all the fancy names that people keep referring to. If he goes, it'll probably be somebody like Corberan or Rohl.

Leicester City versus Everton Tactical Analysis
wardyfox86 replied to StriderHiryu's topic in Leicester City Forum
Once again, you've put more thought into the tactical analysis than Cooper did in his tactical preparation We can only hope he reads. -
I think the board are as incompetent as the next guy. But they were pushing us to compete with the top end of the Premier League, winning FA Cups, finishing within a whisker of 4th twice. On either of those occasions, had we got over the line, we'd be having a different conversation. They didn't make lot of little errors, they made 1 huge error. Not parting with Rodgers when the whole club needed a refresh. If he'd gone in October we were still an attractive proposition for a new manager who likely would have kept us up. Had that happened, we'd probably have had the quality in the squad to survive even with a points deduction. The Smith appointment almost paid off but was too little, too late. The Enzo appointment was spot on and he was backed with quality signings. He left unexpectedly and we likely had little in the way of attractive candidates due to impending sanctions. We avoided sanctions and are now probably a more attractive proposition than we were in July. I guess we all just hope that the board has leart something from the Rodgers failure, that we look at this in October and bring in somebody who'll give us a fighting chance.
-
Not about to start abusing the guy, he didn't hire himself. He just isn't PL quality. He won't keep us up because he's shown already that he doesn't have the ability to get points where he shouldn't and aside from about 7-8 fixtures, this is exactly what is required. I think we lose the the next 2 and he goes. 2 games, 5 games or 15 games, doesn't matter how long he's been here, it's clear it's just not going to work and not going to change.
-
Who was the last poor appointment before Cooper?
-
Get Hamza on to see out this point.
-
If it was El Khannouss starting yesterday and getting 2 assists, he would have had 6 new pages on his thread full of glowing reviews. If Cooper is insistant on this "set up to not lose" approach to 90% of games, then Ndidi getting goal contributions in his defensive CAM position will be vital in that being successful.
-
This is the Premier League though, you can put all but a couple of side in this category. I can't see where more than about 5 wins are coming from, especially if we continually play to just not lose. We have a solid enough squad, but like you say, his management of line ups and in-game has cost us 2 points at the very least. Even the Fulham and Villa results felt like opportunities missed through setting up not to lose.
