I’m really intrigued by the last two games why are we inverting? Cooper hasn’t done it before afaik. is it purely because we had to play Ricky and cooper doesn’t believe he is physically up to playing a standard up and down full back role ? Can’t see that can be the case. I could have bought that he did it once against forest because the boys had been asking to play that way and we were off the the back of two wins. But again yesterday after losing that game convincingly? has cooper been leant on by those above that the quality of football isn’t what he was employed to deliver? Had he promised to continue the possession approach that the board apparently want to embrace? If so, then his inability to effectively play the way the board want him to could be his undoing. Potter is definitely the person they need if that’s the case.

I’ve only seen it from one angle but imo, if you go in with that much force and miss the ball = red I think we benefitted yesterday from Michael Oliver’s intervention last weekend. You see it every time when there is a var mistake - the following round of games sees the pendulum swing too far the other way. A few weeks ago we saw Martinez make a jump challenge which var didn’t sanction. A week later you see Fernandez make a challenge with legs in the air which is given as a red and the var doesn’t get involved to reverse when he should. Two rounds ago you saw ayew pulling the shirt and var didn’t give it. admitted as an error by PGMOL. The following week var gives the Man U challenge as a pen when it clearly wasn’t. reckon next weekend you’ll see the var getting involved too much again because they’ll review this weekend and say that the fatawu challenge should have been a pen.

Occurred to me but with facundo and BEK we shouldn’t be short in that area. We’ve played wilf further forwards and maybe some games Bouba can step into that role

His issue is lack of concentration he allows players to run off him and he gets drawn into pressing in the wrong places and being played around Both these traits are a disaster in the PL is it possible for a player to change what seem to be such basic instincts ? with the ball at his feet he is most likely one of our best midfielders driving forwards.

Its not that he should save a particular goal it’s that he never seems to make a man amazing save And when you add in the cheap goals that keepers always concede where they could have done a bit better, you’re left with a keeper that isn’t worth the position

It’s already happening. if kamala wins next week, you’ll definitely see a drift over the next administration towards what you’d probably consider a more equitable scenario. But change will be fairly slow because that’s just how it is.
