five years ago we looked at Boris’ 80 seat majority and mused that the tories had at least two terms ahead of them last nights double than that labour majority looks potentially very porous - it’s difficult to draw many conclusions from the results. Low turnout and split votes/tactical voting together with extremely targeted campaining would make you nervous to predict where a large chunk of those seats will be in 2029. starmer simply has to make people feel better off - both financially and mentally otherwise I reckon he’ll struggle to hang onto a majority next time.

Another person who has no idea what the psr rules are (because they’re not relevant to the rich six ) -

would have been hilarious to see spurs fans faces if that had happened ! -
Is it correct that the exit poll shows Labour at 36% ? that’s incredible and does deliver questions - I think the opposition will quickly come up with a phrase which reflects a landslide of seats without a landslide of votes

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)

If we weren’t desperate re psr then we’d have got 40m for kdh - possibly more if he wasn’t bothered about moving -
It’s perverse that Hamas’ refusal to accept defeat has made this so much more likely to happen. The end of the war will hasten the end of netenyahu and his right wing cronies. Sinwar is doing no favours for the people of Gaza or those of the West Bank

I wonder if labour’s vote share will top 40%? if it doesn’t then that’s going to be a stick that the opposition use for the next few years - not that it matters under the system we have

No this is about last year to 30 June 2023 - season we were relegated -
Are some people really thinking that Labour won’t have a thumping majority?

Can’t see Iran getting involved directly unless Israel attack them directly they’re using Hezbollah, Houthis and Hamas as proxies to avoid them having to get involved directly

It would also pose why we sold madders pre June 30 although because the losses are three year running, it would not make a difference with 23/24 -

Less allowable losses for infrastructure and women’s team -
They’re not (which makes me wonder the veracity of any reports) and it doesn’t make sense anyway - Tory’s and reform will generally split the non labour vote

methinks we’ve had this defence planned for some considerable time. Now we’ve decided to try and meet 23/24 psr, we’re putting all our eggs in the ‘legal technicality defence’ basket Are we able to take this to CAS or a court of law ? If so, the PL may be advised to come to a deal with us where we accept a 2 point deduction rather than spend considerable amounts on lawyers and potentially lose the case. -
Any word from Atalanta fans if they’re disappointed he’s leaving ??

I wonder if ukraine will feel that they should have got involved in some solid negotiations - I expect putin would now decide he can wait to see how the back end of the year develops politically in addition, wouldn’t surprise me to see Hamas being a little more interested in meeting more of Israel’s demands re a ceasefire agreement. whilst trump is not clear on his ukraine/russia policy, his view of Gaza/israel is that Israel should have gone in harder and finished the demolition of Hamas within a few months (with many times larger civilian casualties ).

Soumaré - Sevilla currently - They have no cash
st albans fox replied to Sly's topic in Transfer Talk
6-8 if they take on his 80k/week for two seasons would work (effectively 10-12) if it’s without then we’re only receiving a fee of 2-4 adjusting for the wage difference -

Sevilla’s option was around £13m which I think reflects break even on amortisation, wage balance pay off and his loyalty bonus -

Two years left - that should mean we sell him this summer to avoid him deciding next summer to see his contract out and leave for nowt. even if we can only get £8m, we should do that get his wages off the books and minimal damage to psr via his amortised value. of course if we get 8 then we likely have to agree to cover 4m ( 2m per season) re his wage differential elsewhere in europe (he’ll get 40k/week max). So we really need to get 12 to neutralise that additional cost.. -
Rock paper scissors ? it’s actually who picked up the least yellow cards apparently the party felt he was a very anonymous leader - very low public profile so the decision was made for him to do stuff which would attract attention and raise that profile as someone who was prepared to do fun stuff and seem to be ‘human’

I’m pretty sure that le pen would target any radical Islamism in France. If she was struggling to implement that policy then no doubt she’d have to move onto low hanging fruit which would be dreadful. (In order to satisfy a large chunk of her support) i assume that they won’t be able to do much whilst macron is president - I’ve always thought that his objective calling this snap election is to give the right some control and by 2027, the public will have seen how poor they are in govt when the next presidential vote occurs.

It’s probably worth less than it’s in the books for hence selling it to anyone makes things worse 😄
