  1. I’m guessing that he has a release clause if we dont go up set at his amortised value this June same with coady surely their agents are good enough to have sorted that out for them ?
  2. There are no mixed signals over Hamas - the issue is how the civilian population is treated. they have stated that an operation against rafah is a red line for them. The fact that the IDF hasn’t gone in already shows that despite netenyahu’s bluster, I reckon Israel are trying to get Hamas to agree the 40 day ceasefire to get the majority of the hostages out. The threats are to keep the pressure on hamas. I had read that the Americans had put enough pressure on the Qataris to tell the Hamas top brass that they would be kicked out of Qatar if Hamas didn’t soften their ceasefire demands
  3. Selling all of those three would offer very little. We’d struggle to break even on psr with soutta4 and VK ref amortisation
  4. We've all had to suffer the entire 45 pages ......... (which would effectively have fitted into 3 pages if stuff wasn't repeated every other page )
  5. I suspect that the reason for this is that sanctions should be applied in the season following the breach. But I believe that there is currently no agreement between the leagues for this to apply in a different division. Hence a club breaking championship psr cannot have points deducted in the PL if they are promoted and vice versa. Presumably breaking the rules in the period ending June ‘23 gives us a sporting advantage in the current season? The assets we have could be argued to have been accumulated whilst we broke psr. I reckon if we don’t break championship psr in this single season we could easily argue that out but there is no way that we don’t lose more than £13m this season, irrespective of sales made in June 2024. I don’t see that argument by our competitors stacking up.
  6. Have we never bought a player from a lower league club where we pushed through a good deal for us because they needed cash ?
  7. It’s still a three year rolling period just that the punishment now has to be in the season following the rolling three year breach. Everton failed 19/20 to 21/22 and were punished. They have now failed 20/21 to 22/23 so have been charged again. But it’s in the same season as the previous sanction due to the change in the timing of rule application as you pointed out. as I understand it, their punishment cannot be for the first two years of the period because they’ve already had a sanction for that. ( no double jeopardy). So expect their new points deduction to be in the region of two points (assuming they have been compliant with the investigation)
  8. To be fair that’s a consequence of reform’s vote share increase
  9. Photo or we don’t believe you’re really in Jamaica !
  10. Chelsea haven’t breached psr yet they can sell £120m of their academy players in June Man City is way more complex than overspending. They didn’t overspend- but they likely overstated their income via excessive sponsorship deals. That’s going to be tough to prove.
  11. I wonder if he’ll start for Belgium at the weekend? be interesting to see if he’s as impulsive for them or if he seems to concentrate more because he doesn’t feel so ‘arrogant’ playing for his country
  12. Momentum is a strange thing in football we had it in the crucial period in the second half before faes went walkabout again and exposed vestergaard one on one with Jackson. id say that today showed that if we get up and can recruit cleverly, then we can have a good go at staying up playing this way. Obviously having the same squad next season would not go very well with this style of play because the defence simply isn’t up to it.
  13. So not just a boy thing then we continue to evolve …..
  14. I’ve seen a lot worse on here didn’t seem much wrong with what he wrote ??.
  15. Music playing whilst doing homework isn’t a new thing though - that’s more of a background thing and I can cope with that but visual screen activity - like having a tv series playing on an adjacent pc screen or iPad seems way too distracting to me
  16. If any of you have boys at secondary school - have you noticed that they need to have something else on a screen whilst they do their homework? As if they need a distraction in order to concentrate. It does my head in because I can’t understand it. I mentioned it to a friend of mine who is a teacher and he said that this age group are so used to multi tasking with different media that just having one thing to focus on doesn’t work for them, If this chimes with any of you, have you noticed it apply to any of your daughters ?
  17. Bugger I backed the second favourite got great odds though
  18. Schoolboy error expecting pundits and commentators to know the laws and how they apply !
  19. I assume our recent move to be a little more direct at times has come whilst our confidence has dropped and opposition coaches developing a better way of pressing us. (And that we’ve found ourselves chasing games). The fact that we actually managed to play quite a few passes today reflected that Chelsea often didn’t bother to press high and that the players may be a little more resilient than we think.
  20. I think Chelsea set that trap for him - cucarella seemed to want to show him inside where they had others waiting. He’d be used to full backs trying to push him onto his right foot so he was way too happy to take the bait
  21. Not sure what everyone expected to see from a Torquay hotel window this weekend ????
  22. It’s perfectly in order. Ref thought Doyle had made an attempt to get to the ball so gave him a yellow because of double jeopardy pen award on denying a goal scoring opportunity. I’m sure that if it was a pen the var would have told madley to reconsider that because Doyle made no attempt to get to the ball.
  23. Yes No attempt to play the ball and denied a goal scoring opportunity the ref gave the red after he was called by the var to review that he hadn’t given the pen.
  24. That was a straight red
