FA Cup: Chelsea (A) 4-2 Post-Match Thread

Only @lcfcbluearmy appears to know the laws Last man with no attempt to play the ball is a red, even with a pen (see regulion for Brentford yesterday) if it’s a goal scoring opportunity I reckon if it had actually been a pen then the var would have told madley that Doyle made no attempt to play the ball and it would have been changed to a red -

we need the money to avoid financial calamity I think our parachute payment next season is around £40/£50m. Almost £100m guaranteed in the prem. it’s simply not a good option for us to remain in the championship - on any basis unless you’re a fan of a long period in the second tier. -

You’re blaming the ref? -
Been a decent performance but do we really want to do this for another 30 mins ?
-
They have a lot of pace going forwards would a sending off today mean a ban for the next league game(s) ?
-
Interesting that he’s sticking with Jakob maybe there’s a thought that he could be saleable in the summer and great performance could be very valuable (or could be the opposite 😀)
-
Journos see it fifteen mins before others
-
As are the rent and rates for the landlord ….
-
Correct - but why half way? That’s still in kicking range ? I get that further gives France the opportunity to break at pace because they 100% get possession and have room to run into but surely sticking it within fifteen yards of the touchline near their 22 and letting your chaser know that’s what you’re doing makes way more sense ?
-
The way we play there will be silly mistakes we rode our luck at anfield in the league cup but it’s the way we do things now so just got to hope we don’t get punished boro did it there in the league cup and lost by 6. It’s a big risk but let’s see how we go. Without Ricky I do feel we struggle to make the formation work against good teams.
-
It was soft because those aren’t generally given but by the letter of the law, earl made no attempt to wrap
-
Care’s box kick was a bit odd kicking to half way made no sense with two and half mins left - you’re 75% of the time kicking away possession. Surely you gain as much ground as you can so the opposition are close to their 22 ?? The only reason to kick and not recycle is because you’re worried about giving away a kickable pen trying to do that for 3 mins. Poor
-
He saw a no arms tackle tbh, england spent a lot of time diving into tackles low down without wrapping - cost two pens and six points. Plenty of times it brought down the ball carrier but it’s a dengerous game to play
-
England would have won that comfortably with a little bit of intelligence and game management the bench proved to be less impactful than usual aswell
-
Score since England made a host of changes doesn’t look great
-
Naive from England with an aggressive defence on turnover ball from line out

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

On the plus side, it does seem to be something that the majority understand (as opposed to football 😀) -
Wait till Leeds win tomorrow and we lose
-
Jeez - no imagination attacking against 14 (effectively 13 with an injured player)
-
We got onto the wrong side of the ref giving away four or five quick pens pre half time our decision making has been awful our defensive shape even worse
-
Even if you accept that volcanic activity is responsible for the majority of co2 emissions into the system, we can’t regulate that so surely it’s sensible to try and regulate what we’re repsonsible for to try and exert whatever controls that we can
-
Very poor discipline from tigers down to 13 going to be tough to win from here
