  1. I mentioned this yesterday how on earth do we get to this stage of a deal without sorting basics out like this ? who is doing the negotiations???? If we’re the only game in town then they take what we’re offering or the player sits out till June and goes for free. Can’t believe that inter can be happy to walk away from a couple million euros. If it’s a loan with obligation on promotion then they have to give him an extra year because the loan must run till June 30 (all contracts run till end June) and then he becomes a free agent. But if they give him an extra year and we don’t go up then they could be stuck with a player they don’t want to pay for another season. Clearly they want it both ways but then they are a bigger club ! Like I said - it should have been sorted a while ago, not scrambling around 48 hours before the window shuts
  2. That was yesterday morning’s tweet - loan and mandatory on oromotion it then changed to purchase €500k + €2m payable on promotion now it’s €500k purchase plus the bonus but contract only till 2025 ?
  3. A) don’t think wilf is really out till April b) we wouldn’t sell unless we got a loan or two in and we don’t need to get 107 points to be promoted (and I don’t think he goes this window)
  4. You’ve been here way too long to believe that 😄
  5. With each passing day the contract gets shorter …… I assume that in the event we are promoted his contract is extended and inter get €2m bonus. Otherwise we surely aren’t effectively paying €2m euros for next season ? although we could then sell him in the summer. if 2025 is correct then are we committed to the player for a season if we don’t go up ?
  6. A bird in the hand …… brighton have had a lot of injuries - they may decide it’s worth spending more now to help with their demands this season. based on their general frugal approach that’s doubtful - unless they really want him and worry another club could appear in June.
  7. All those arguing that we shouldn’t sell because we may not go up if we do must appreciate that the club is a business. They will make judgements. If a home grown player needs to be sold for around 30m before end June then we would surely do the deal now. we will have replacement loans lined up in case and the certainty of the deal makes our plans for the summer window easier . Kdh could do his hammy next week and miss the next three months. stuff happens The club will make decision based on the likelihood of finishing in the top two places. They aren’t bothered about record points totals if brighton really are interested then their need for the player now will dictate their willingness to pay £30m+ before Wednesday is finished
  8. Grealish was £100m of income which enables you to spend a lot over two or three years. But then in years four and five it catches up with you unless you’ve sold some more players for decent money where you don’t owe much of the original fee (or academy products)
  9. The dead deal or the resurrected deal ?
  10. If he’s impressed out there then another Italian club (with more than some magic beans and a packet of hula hoops) may be interested
  11. I was speaking about a June sale fwiw, I think we’d still go up if KDH was unable to play again this season
  12. Because it’s all profit we could spend £100m in fees this summer on the back of getting 40m in for kdh and also plug the hole in the accounts buying 100m worth of players sticks 20m per year in the debit column for five years but we’re not getting 40m for him.
  13. And they don’t pay to travel to have medicals etc either ! I think youri came by commercial and that’s when we were loaded!
  14. Exec jet ? you’d be better off checking easy jet Milan to Luton nowadays !
  15. If the talk about us needing to sell before the end of June is true then I guess it doesn’t do any harm for us to be seen to negotiating in the championship in Jan and knocking back a sizeable bid or two. Sets a floor ahead of any low ball june offers And also shows the player and his agent that we hadn’t refused to engage in any discussions on a sale now. I do think that there is a fee that would convince us to sell this week if it’s agreed tomorrow. we can get a loan in on Wednesday. I’m sure we have identified options in case a club are mad enough to come in with £30/35m
  16. They were backs to the wall hanging on
  17. He is out of contract at the end of June we have to complete a deal with inter before then or he’s a free agent the fee is amortised (annual cost ) in the accounts year by year (ending June 30th). I don’t think this is a cash flow situation
  18. Maybe they are paying most of his wages now and we effectively re imbusre them from the fee in June - which is them amortised over the three years of his contract word was that they wanted €2m and this deal will be €2.5m if we go up
  19. He is out of contract end june our ffp accounts are to end June so makes no difference unless inter are going to add a year to his contract (possible) before we take the loan then we have to complete the purchase before end June I assume the loan with mandatory buy on promotion is to protect us in the event that we don’t go up. But I can’t see how that works for inter unless it’s a take it or leave it €500k or he just sits out his final six months will be interesting to see if they do add a years option onto his contract on the event that we don’t go up.
  20. Just reject it with the comment ‘the price is £40m - just like ulloa was £8.3m’
  21. Lucky that he’s coming to a club with a superb record of keeping players fit then …..
  22. Loan deals for players into their last six months are rare we did one with ayo last season but he gave up a lot of his salary to take it. we needed squad space freeing up so I don’t think we even got a loan fee. It’s not usually in the interest of the player (who forgoes a chunk of their s/o fee if they leave as a free agent in July ) or the buying club (who can get the player for nothing in July). The only winners are the selling club. Thomas - we have an optional year
  23. So they both know the laws of the game but they didn’t know them in the immediate aftermath of the goal
  24. Thinking about a sell on clause …. seriously not having that with six months left - they’re lucky he isn’t sitting out the last six months and going for nowt could be a nominal release clause if we fail to go up
  25. Never thought I’d see someone with less core strength than ayo ……
