  1. But we did have an air of a group of players who looked like they thought it would be easy so that bit was right Sadly I agree which is most frustrating- hopefully this will teach them that they need to keep up the intensity to get a second and then they can manage the game
  2. Precisely arrogant, careless, complacent whilst we were ahead when it was clear that Wednesday would be bound to push hard last ten mins only a goal down. We needed to go harder for that second We had some openings but final pass was so poor every time
  3. clearly the players thought they just needed to turn up that’s down to the coach imo
  4. Dreadful should have let three in already
  5. Can’t believe that the rate of interest isn’t related to the base rate (and therefore variable )
  6. More uefa nonsense surely it’s the same handball law ? Wouldn’t be a pen in the PL
  7. The problem is that these groups have to find more and more stuff to get involved in or they will lose their role. and it’s the game that will suffer someone has to put a stop to it !!!
  8. The first angle they looked at defo looked like a big touch from semedo and they didn’t look back at that angle again !
  9. And the Palestine centre for prisoner studies is of course completely reliable as a source of information ?? I’ve no way of knowing I’ve done some digging into Palestinian NGO’s responsible for monitoring children’s rights in the occupied territories and they seem comfortable using IPS data
  10. There is very little data provided by the IDF The numbers and details of those held is all from the prison service and as a democracy, under freedom of information, they have to give the number afaik. if you look at the website I think you’ll find it fits well with your view of the situation - I’m trying !
  11. https://www.btselem.org/statistics/minors_in_custody this is a good source of stats in the West Bank because it’s a group run by Israelis who are able to get better access to the data than Palestinians or other NGO’s fwiw, I would say the following arresting and holding U16’s is grim - but I’m not having rocks and stones thrown at me. (Pebbles ?) and it looks to be v unusual for any U14’s to be held (last I can see is 2 in July 2022 and they were not held a month later)
  12. It’s a massive card - the Israeli public will care more about their hostages than the desire of netenyahu to destroy Hamas (because fundamentally they know it’s not possible ). hamas’ fighting forces are primarily underground - as are probably most of the hostages so the likelihood of Israel getting the fighting age males out is in my opinion a very long shot unless it’s part of a wider ceasefire agreement that effectively leaves Hamas intact (although there maybe room for an ‘ arrangement’ that appears to remove them as a military force). There are other factions in Gaza like Islamic jihad - they aren’t even mentioned in discussions because the reality is that it’s too complicated. the USA and Qatar have a big job on their hands trying to sort this out
  13. Yep hamas know that once there are no hostages left, they lose leverage. I’d expect that once all the children, elderly and female hostages are released (that could take some time), the men will likely be declared combatants and therefore POW’s rather than hostages. Some of them were indeed soldiers but all Israeli citizens have national service and many are reservists. So to declare a male thirty y o civilian as a POW wouldn’t be seen as unreasonable to Hamas. We could see this truce extended for a couple weeks whilst captives are released but then Israel will have a big call to make if Hamas do indeed refuse to negotiate over males aged 18/45.
  14. Apparently the ‘issues’ are resolved but the last few hours have shown who holds the upper hand during the truce period. Netenyahu will be livid but whilst civilians are being released he is impotent - the public have seen women, kids and grandparents returned to their families. No PM can be responsible for stopping this. And after four days, the pressure to continue the truce will continue in order to release more - and Hamas can easily make this five per day to drag things out for weeks …
  15. There are quite a few Israeli ministers who were dead set against the hostage release agreement and 4 day truce on the basis that Hamas were in quite a bit of trouble militarily in Gaza. (Some on the basis that they are right wing ‘extremists’ but I’m ignoring those). Israel are really uncomfortable about the slow release, a dozen at a time, because it gives Hamas four days to regroup in the south and parts of the north and only results in 50 hostages (plus hopefully all the non Israelis but that’s not necessarily going to happen) if this delay means that we effectively have 3 days to get 24 Israelis released then that’s going to play badly in Jerusalem and the question will be could it take a week to see the first 52 out ? That would put netenyahu in an even worse position - he can’t pull the plug on the deal and he is effectively being played by Hamas. the reasons given by Hamas for not making todays release don’t really matter - it’s what happens which is. No one will be able to verify if drones were flying when they should/shouldnt. As has been commented on repeatedly here, Hamas seem so much more adept with their tactics than Israel.
  16. Bellew showing why boxers have trainers in their corner rather than relying on themselves to strategise ……
  17. Come on ( especially with the footnote - so it’s fine - the weapons being stored at the school aren’t necessarily rockets.) The times of Israel article was quoting UNWRA - here is their link seeing as any publication which has the name Israel in it seems to cause you a problem https://www.unrwa.org/newsroom/official-statements/unrwa-strongly-condemns-neutrality-breach-against-agency-gaza The un watch (I accept your description of the website ) is again quoting UN reports. There may be some context removed but that doesn’t mean what it’s reported wasn’t true. There is loads of stuff on line from PA, AFP, Reuters but I deliberately only chose UN stuff I could find in five minutes to avoid you questioning it’s veracity because you haven’t seen it yourself
  18. I’ve only linked to un stuff because at least you will trust that - again, not a secret https://www.timesofisrael.com/unrwa-condemns-subterranean-opening-found-beneath-gaza-school/ https://www.unrwa.org/newsroom/press-releases/unrwa-condemns-placement-rockets-second-time-one-its-schools https://unwatch.org/un-admits-palestinians-fired-rockets-unrwa-schools/
  19. It’s not a secret that there are basement levels at Al shifa - the below headline …..( check the date ) I still think this Barak interview is closer to what I said. Israel built the basement level(s) to extend the hospital area and Hamas have used them in the past. That doesn’t however mean they are doing so now. whether we are told what Israel have found under shifa won’t be known until they are certain that hostages aren’t involved and nothing to be lost by revealing. If there is no compelling evidence then they obvs wont say anything.
  20. from what I’ve read the Israeli’s seem to be blocking tunnel entrances rather than exploring below ground where they face a huge threat of death/injury. there is also the concern that hostages may be held in these networks so perhaps they aren’t keen to fight below ground for these reasons too. the next few days will be cat and mouse as the Israelis try to see where hostages are being brought from.
  21. He says bunker - we would say basement they were built as part of the functioning hospital but Israel claims that some of them are being used for military purposes and And that Hamas have built tunnels further down ( to other underground areas) and also linking these areas to other ‘bunkers’ in the area under Gaza city I don’t think the shifa hospital having several below ground basements should be news to either amanpour or hasan
  22. So many parents like that - biggest barrier to a talented kid making it !
  23. They should put the IHT system right first Those who can afford it the most generally pay nothing due to complex trust arrangements. It’s the wealthier middle classes (especially down south) who end up paying it more.
  24. Sadly all died in car accident 😞
  25. Wonder what odds you can get on him making his liverpool debut in 2028 ………..
