You'd think we would just reign in the expansive drives a bit when things get tough.

Two days in a row, I get up and dressed, head downstairs and put the kettle and TV on just as we somehow lose our third wicket since I last checked the score 5 minutes before.

Course they do. Bazunu is on Danny Ward's sort of level. -

He was a very, very good keeper for us. Surprised at how badly it went for him at West Ham, conceded more dodgy goals in about 3 games there than he did for us in 2 years. I'm sure he'll kick on again once he finds a decent new home. Think we were spoilt having Kasper in goal for a decade. Just wasn't a position we needed to even think about for a long time. -
Must be absolutely surreal.

Maybe the Bangladeshi fans are right. Maybe Hamza is the best player in the world.

Odd that they went through 9 bowlers, including part-time spin, and Rehan didn't get an over. -
Think we needed an unpopular manager at the time- move some of the PL winners on, refresh the squad. Unfortunately that seemed to include Vardy, which was probably his downfall (with fans and players alike). His recruitment set us up for the FA Cup win and Europe.

Yeah I'd go for five seamers (inc. Stokes) at Perth. Wood and Archer both play that one, if fit. Got a feeling Bashir might be quite useful in the evening conditions at the Gabba, combination of skid and extra bounce. Assuming the batsmen give him anything to work with. -

Very likely- can't see anything other than us being completely steamrolled in Perth. It will be frustrating, because the second test being day/night potentially levels the playing field a bit at the Gabba. Going 1-0 up could give us a sniff of a series win. -
Can't believe that Bazunu is back in net for Southampton. He's young, but was absolutely horrendous last time they were down here. Another example of a club sacrificing the fundamentals of the game for possession stats.

That's where I was a few months ago. Ain't happening.

Rolled my ankle a couple of years back and strained the ligaments- knew instantly, it's a very different sensation to muscular/joint injuries. Even a minor strain took a couple of months to recover from, but I'm getting on a bit.

Regardless of whether today has papered over the cracks.... well worth it, mate. Well worth it. -

His first touch is fine... it's the 15 that he insists on taking after that which are the main issue! -
He's definitely our best striker- the bar is low, but he offers a lot of energy and can actually press. A run in the side, a lucky goal going in off his backside, a bit of confidence and a competently set up side behind him (with a number 10 looking for passes in behind) and he can be effective at this level.

He's the best of a very bad bunch up top. Subs were spot on because we ended the game with the midfield and forward line we should be starting with -
Frank Lampard's Cov are going up aren't they? Sickening.

I'm just going to enjoy it, have a beer and forget about the wider issues for today- last minute winner from one of our few likeable players, after a nightmare few weeks. -

Don't necessarily disagree- on the face of it, we'd had the better of the chances by the final whistle. Not often you play that badly for 70 minutes and come away with a win though, we need to get our act together. -

They had shaded an awful game up until we made our subs. All over them at the end once we'd actually woken up and realised we needed a goal. -

I don't want to see Jordan Ayew anywhere near a starting 11 again. Dreadful player and slows every attack down that he gets involved in.- 336 replies
