  1. Nice to see Mav try and pass the ball for a change.
  2. The Lineup seems like Marti's early choices for the team. Interesting to see how they perform today after a bit of time to wrk with the Team.
  3. He always seemed one of our more intelligent players. I'm sure he'll make a good job of Management. Maybe he'll make his way back here one day. Good luck to him.
  4. I totally agree Jakub is the future. But it's nice to have an experienced Keeper who still offers something as backup, Unlike Ward.
  5. Because everyone was backing in on top of him. What about the save he made also, He certainly hasn't let us down unlike many of the outdield players have.
  6. I don't think Marti has the strength of character to take no shit from the players. Which is why he's not getting the best out of the team. The Manager has to build that winning mentality by fixing what's wrong game by game, Starting with the little things. Corner Kicks , Free kicks , throw ins etc. positioning around both boxes. Ball possession, Overplaying the Ball, Not letting the Ball do the work. These are things I expect to see improvement in over the weeks but nothing. I also understand he has to bring players onside also but there's a way to encourage players while giving them a rollicking too. All of which makes me think he just isn't good enough right now.
  7. I like Jakub and thought signing Begovic was a strange signing. But seeing him play since coming into the team he's been excellent. He can also help bring Jakub on to the next level given his experience and leadership qualities.
  8. I hate to see any player injured but that means he's likely to be here next season. As it will likely be April again he gets back playing.
  9. His biggest asset is his speed because he's young, but he's got to learn to give and go, Otherwise he's going to get a kicking from some clogger who's much heavier than he is. Beating a man should be a last resort. He could learn a lot from watching Mo Salah or Rashford at his best.
  10. Thanks, To be fair to him he's come in hitting the ground running so to speak. He's allowed us to play a 3 at the back and get the FBs forward in possession. Let's hope it's more precautionary and he'll be back soon.
  11. Enzo is an elite manager and yet some on here thought he was rubbish because he didn't play it long. We wore teams down with possession and movement. When you think he done it largely with the players he inherited.
  12. Any offical announcement yet as to how bad or long he'll be out. ? I wish him well, It's never nice to see a young player get a bad injury. That's 3 players in a Week we've lost.
  13. That's a decent explanation but I think we're comparing like for like the only thing different is the systems used nowadays to my early days. In my days 8 and 10s were largely the play makers operating in midfield and the channels largely competing against there opposite numbers depending on who had possession. Now of course they can come deeper, but so does the Wingers and even CF. to find or create space or help out in defence. But they are still largely the playmakers. I can remember the great Biily Bremner and Giles for Leeds playing that way with Hunter playing the Defensive Mdfield role. All similar to Gerrard, Keane Robson. Then you had the other kind of 8, 10 like Cottee, Dickov, Lampard. Today Reid played in the channel behind Daka and Fatawu and JJ dropped a bit deeper and moved a bit more central to link up with Winks. As I said earlier, good players will find the space. But it wokrs best if they work together and make it look simple. As Reid did when he played Fatawu in and he crossed for the Goal. Without either having to beat a man.
  14. Nothing woring with what I've said, it just depends on the players available and the system being used as others have said. Systems are usually built around the players available. It doesn't mean theyre always sucessful though.
  15. Well maybe you'll enighten me I'm always willing to learn.
  16. A senior FA staff Coach taught me good players don't need numbers. They'll find a way to effect the game within the team structure. It took me a little while to realise he was right.
  17. Why do you think he's keeping Mavadidi out of the team. It's not for his attacking skills.
  18. The clue is in the number. an 8 plays in the hole or behind the Striker on the right which used to be called an inside right. But systems have changed. A 10 similar on the left. But a lot depends on the sytem being used. Where they play depends on where the ball is as players are expected to do more these days.
  19. If Rudkin is doing his job it should be a deal already done just to be announced in January.
  20. Why, He played his best game for us in as an 8 today. Also we'd loose Ayew's defensive work. James done well in the 8 also but was even better when he dropped deeper and ghosted in for the goal.
  21. He was, But still struggles with his first touch which is not to difficult to fix. His starting isn't great either he is always square on to the Ball. Instead of getting side on where he'd see the bigger picture which would give him an advantage. He did worked hard today though and laid on the pass to DCR to score the equaliser.
  22. Why are the Coaches not improving his touch, That's what I can't understand.
  23. Bobby didn't do anything special , He just took up better positions and played the Ball through the lines to create the cross for Fatawu. Who for once put a good cross in. Bobby has to play in the 8 role in the next game. With James in the 10 role.
  24. Got out of jail there.
  25. It's worth seeing.
