Scratch that, he's done. Get Kasey on.
-
He's getting into all the right positions Mavididi but at the sharp end he's way off it tonight. Hope he scuffs one in now.
-
He'll be back. Must be frustrating for him but when he's had a chance since the major injury he's looked a cut above, scoring goals, etc. When he's in a place like Ricky and JJ are now, he'll be an absolute beast. Time is on his side, too.

Senior player pissed off because he's not getting any first-team action? Wouldn't want it any other way. For what it's worth, he appears to be a consummate professional and, while he's been okay at times when he's come in, I don't think his performances have necessarily been above the four regular starting CBs (including JJ and Doyle vying for that LCB berth) nor Nelson's as backup. Them's the breaks I guess. He's been great for the dressing room, no doubt, but if he wants to nail down a CB slot, he's got to do better when he gets the chance, I think.

An off day. Response needed at Elland Road.

Get in!

Wow. A collector's item of a miss by Vardy.

West Brom are equal parts good and absolutely honking

To be fair Southampton do have the highest average possession in the league don't they? And they had more of the ball when we turned them over at their place.

The amount of pr!cks who think Russia is some sort of model for how the West should operate. If the war in Ukraine wasn't enough, this Navalny business should be. Litvinenko, etc. too. Too many defending a war-mongering, murderous, authoritarian regime because they present themselves as anti-woke and a bit tough. Tossers.

If Quique Sanches Flores is getting a tune out of him, give him a full preseason with Enzo and he'll turn into fooking prime Zidane

I really, really want them to haul Southampton and Leeds back in and pip them to second. I think they'd be a great addition to the Prem and it would be a real sickened for the fans of those other two clubs.

Taking these risks leads to goals like Ricky's and like Vardy's against Stoke, where we beat the initial press and there's a huge space for a midfielder to run into. Both goals looked incredibly simple but began with how we aim to play the game. So far, the way we play at the back has contributed to way more goals scored than conceded. It may be different in the Prem, but that's probably more of a problem that can be solved by players raising their games and the club recruiting better players. Winks is dynamite at this level and we can forgive the odd slip-up. The pros are outweighing the cons.

Cars coming round corners halfway across my b*****d lane

Hopefully a more comfortable game than the weekend. Really want to see what Alves can do with a good half an hour running at already shattered and beaten defences.

talkSPORT love putting these nutters on exactly so they can shout them down and tell them how ridiculous they are. The more controversial and ridiculous the call, the better for them. They get the initial engagement, then the clips on Twitter, then the article like this. The unfortunate side effect is that the lunatic voices get more coverage. When you have thousands singing 'playing football the Enzo way' vs the odd person shouting 'gerrit forward' or fringe weirdos with opinions like the one in this article, you know that most of the fans are on board, but the fact the minority and, frankly, strange opinions get more coverage make it seem as though they're actually the prevailing thoughts of the fans. I like a lot of talkSPORT's more thoughtful coverage but unfortunately this is their phone-in's MO.

Apologies, I didn't see this before posting

Wouldn't mind us taking a look at Jaden Philogene from Hull. Just come back from an injury but started life at Hull well and seems to have done well for England U21s too. Would be a backup to Mavididi but could push him if given a chance.

Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21

I'm happy with the club for providing these videos, but my word they're a slog to get through. I know this happens with the first-team highlights videos as well, but why spend 4 minutes of a 15-minute video showing the players walking out and lining up before kick-off? That could be cut to 30 seconds max. Then they spelled Brad Young's surname incorrectly ('Yound') in the list of subs and kept showing an ident with the WSL logo instead of a PL/PL Cup one. -
What's so good about this style of kit is that white away shirts are very traditionally Leicester City and yet it's still a modern riff on our first ever Leicester Fosse kit. Loved the first one and would love it if it came back around.

I was referring to Tommy rather than Callum. From what I've seen online, Tommy's contract is up in 2025 (unless he's renewed and I can't see that anywhere) and Callum's in 2027 Also, even with only a year and a bit left, I would think £4m-£5m for Tommy would be a bit mad, as I said in my previous post. But it is what I heard somewhere, however accurate or outlandish it may be.

I'm sure I heard a commentator remark recently that he could be available for as little as £4m-£5m (I presumed you meant Tommy rather than Callum btw). Would be bonkers if true, even with a year left on his current deal by the time the summer comes around. Him and McAtee would be a very good start to the window. Sensi on a free as well and we're cooking. Proper alternatives to Mavididi and Fatawu would be crucial too, as you say.

This is up there as one of the worst Premier League performances by Sheffield United. Absolutely abysmal. The first goal set the tone as well. The covering defender just jogging back expecting the ball to go in despite Ahmedhozic making good ground, which ended up giving McGinn the freedom of the penalty area to smash in when the ball rebounded back out.

Get some flags made of the big man. Can't get enough of his face right now
