  1. Of all the times where you perhaps can ignore it, today is probably the best example. Two assists and forced an own goal, other strikers stepping up to replace his goals, the focus really shouldn’t be on his misses. Keep playing so positively and the goals will come, in the meantime we’re not missing them.
  2. Football aside when you see how emotional he was after his third you can’t help but be so so delighted for him. Monster performance!!
  3. Was rooting for Cags to knock him out, not like we were winning the game from that point anyway. must say I’m devastated to be out, sure we might have a better time in the league but how often are you in with a decent chance of winning a European competition.
  4. Man who's played football about 10 times in 2 years plays right back up against Mane and Robertson, team wins 3-1, and still he's not good enough... I agree he's not as assured as our other full backs, I agree that his touch is rusty, but damn Mane did very little that game so not sure what he could have done (also, phenomenal positioning at the Maddison FK...)
  5. Ndidi has become a colossal midfielder, the way he finds space and a safe pass under pressure is world class. More important than anyone else today.
  6. Exactly this, that post is so reactionary it hurts. We’re gonna play badly and lose games throughout the season, but no a team that took Leicester city into Europe, fought for cups, beat the likes of City, Arsenal, Chelsea will not be considered bottlers, unless by people who’ve only had an interest in Leicester since 2016
  7. I’m not massively worried, we lost the game in the two areas that would normally be bossed by Vardy and Ndidi. One thing that needs changing though is Madders on set pieces. At some point you’ve just gotta admit that it’s not working and give someone else a go, Youri, Albrighton, Under all look decent when they take them
  8. So was his 400th Southampton or Stoke? Club seem to think Southampton but pundits and Wiki reckon that was 401st
  9. Absolutely buzzing with that! Such a mature performance from us and Rodgers, which is a really good sign after the capitulation last season. what a midfield we have, one of the best in the league no question.
  10. I guess what I’m saying is that I don’t see us being a selling club indefinitely, like Southampton seem to be. There may well be some more big sales in the next few years but the impression I get from Top and Rodgers is that we intend to eventually get to a level where we can retain and attract the big players. I wouldn’t necessarily bet on us succeeding, but I can see us being much less willing to part with key players going forward. (fast forward to Wilf’s £90m move to Man Utd in the summer)
  11. I really don't think we're a selling club. I get that we periodically sell good players, but recently we've been in control of negotiations and end up getting more than good value for them, which is then reinvested pretty smartly (not just in young players but in infrastructure like Seagrave). We just can't compete financially with the rich clubs any other way. But to me we're progressing, not stagnating, so in a few years we may be less dependent on selling star players. For me a big test will be keeping hold of Maddison, just because he seems very focused on reaching the 'top'. If we convince him to stay it'll be a big statement imo
  12. Found this a couple days ago on a street sign in Sheffield, come on own up

    Hamza

Surprised to see people okay with him leaving for good, sure he's not first team at the moment but as an academy graduate he's much more likely to be content as back-up or going out on loan than anyone we could bring in. I'd send him out on loan for his own benefit but defo wouldn't sell. We gave Gray about 100 years why not Hamza?
  14. Personally my favourite midfield three was Drinkwater and Kante
  15. Reminded me of a period a few years ago (under Sven I think?) when we'd constantly go 2-0 down then start playing in the 75th+ minute, score to give us hope then hoof it up until the final whistle. In fairness a makeshift defence playing twice a week has its excuses, but the midfield was the most disappointing part for me tonight. 4 quality mids on the pitch yet Evans is still holding the ball for 5+ seconds looking for a pass? Also thought our press was too one dimensional. Felt like the players would panic when we lost possession and chase the ball without the intelligence for someone else to block off the passes. So easy for Fulham to beat. Frustrating, but it's about time we learned how to respond to defeats and what better time than now? Let's see Rodgers earn his wage.
